Iron Claw Success opens an avenue for a movie on the Guerrero family, featuring late great Eddie Guerrero

“The Iron Claw” movie was released in US cinemas last week. It showcases the lives and careers of the Von Erich family and has been receiving positive feedback from both wrestling insiders and outsiders.

The biopic’s success has sparked conversations about other wrestlers and families who may receive similar recognition in the future. The Guerrero family seems to be at the top of that list, and there have already been discussions about creating a movie about them by making late WWE legend Eddie Guerrero the lead character in the movie.

Guerrero’s family member approached about a movie on their family

According to former WWE superstar Chavo Guerrero, he has been approached about a potential movie project that would focus on the legendary Guerrero family of the pro wrestling world.

The Guerrero family includes Gory Guerrero, Eddie Guerrero, Chavo Guerrero Jr., Chavo Guerrero Sr., and more. Chavo Guerrero Jr. served as the wrestling coordinator on “The Iron Claw” film and has stated that there is a possibility for an opportunity for his own family with such a project.

In a recent interview with CBS Sports, Chavo Guerrero mentioned being approached about the possibility of telling the story of the legendary Guerrero family to the world through a film project.

“With the success that I believe this movie will have and telling the story of the Von Erich family, I think there is definitely an avenue to do a movie, documentary, or series on the Guerrero family. I’ve been approached about it a lot,” said Chavo Guerrero Jr.

Chavo’s take on WWE benefiting from Eddie Guerrero’s name

WWE legend Chavo Guerrero has expressed his opinion on the company’s use of Eddie Guerrero’s name to generate revenue. He believes that any profits made through the use of Eddie’s name should be directed towards his daughters and family rather than being kept by the company.

During a recent episode of the “Insight with Chris Van Vliet” podcast, Chavo Guerrero, the cousin of the late Eddie Guerrero, expressed his opinion on WWE’s use of his cousin’s name for merchandise sales. According to Chavo, it is not fair that WWE is profiting from Eddie’s name without sharing any of the profits with his family. He believes that Eddie’s family should receive a share of the profits made from the merchandise sold with Eddie’s name on it.

“It bothers me when Eddie’s daughters aren’t reaping the benefits, yes. To me, I’m always looking. And if anybody should be making money off of Eddie Guerrero, it should be Eddie’s daughters. They are making money from the merchandise. I don’t know if that’s correct. I don’t know if that’s correct. At least talking to them about it. I’m not them. I’m not the say-all, be-all, but that’s something that I would definitely wish that they were. That’s her dad; they shouldn’t have to worry about that. That should be in his will. His persona. His name and likeness should be to them,” said Chavo Guerrero Jr.
