In 2023, Devin Haney stepped foot in boxing ring in the 5th month of the year. After defending the 135-pound title belt against Vasyl Lomachenko, both showed a proper war game, but in the end, Devin came out victorious. Later, it was Regis Prograis, whom the 25-year-old faced after three months of getting out on bail.
This achievement was the biggest for his career, as he won the 6th title in the WBC super lightweight division. This last month’s victory was enough to give his legacy a nomination for the Fighter of the Year award, where he again turned out to be victorious.
Haney’s victory amid strong competition from Inoue, Crawford, and others
Devin Haney’s 31st victory at the end of the year has already set a mark on the upcoming tough competition. Haney is already lining up to fight against Ryan Garcia, as a social media war has already started between the rivals.
Now undefeated fighters like Gervonta Davis, Terence Crawford, and Naoya Inoue might get in talks with “Dream” after witnessing the big achievement of the 25-year-old boxer for the year 2023. Crawford is the WBO welterweight champion and on the other hand, Inoue recently defended his WBC and WBO bantamweight titles.
