This season marked the first season that NFL fans have been depriving themselves of seeing Tom Brady’s dynasty. While they think the NFL legend still has the caliber to entertain the football field and urge him to make a return, Brady boldly asserts his reluctance, as he finds today’s NFL as “mediocre”.
The seven-time Super Bowl winner has found an exceptional player whose skill has won him more praise, even though the NFL is going through what he sees as a difficult moment.
Tom Brady highly praises Lamar Jackson
In a recent episode of the “Let’s Go!” podcast, co-hosted by Tom Brady himself, the former New England Patriots player didn’t shy away from expressing his admiration for Lamar Jackson. Brady boldly asserted that players like Jackson are the reason people still have interest in watching the NFL, emphasizing the quarterback’s impact on the field.
“You’re the reason why people watch the NFL because of guys like you. You’ve just had an amazing career,” Brady said.
Jackson remained appreciative of TB12’s compliment while responding, “Meant a lot, coming from you.”
Before acknowledging Jackson’s NFL stardom, Brady took a trip down memory lane to the first time he noticed the young talent. Reflecting on a high school highlight from Jackson’s days in Boynton Beach, Fla., Brady fondly recalled his first look at Jackson.
“First time I ever really noticed you was that high school highlight where you put the brakes on the guy, and he went flying by.”
This season, Jackson guided the Ravens to a 13-3 record to secure the AFC North title and a top spot in the playoffs. To help his team get their playoff ticket, he put forward a stellar performance of 3,678 passing yards, 24 touchdowns, and seven interceptions, per Fox Sports.
Lamar Jackson announces his playoff soundtrack
With the NFL playoffs looming, Lamar Jackson, in anticipation of his team’s upcoming game against the lowest-seeded remaining wild-card team, shared his playoff soundtrack. He revealed that to keep himself on track, he now used to draw inspiration from hearing Tha Carter II, a 2004 album favored by the Dallas Cowboys’ critic, Lil Wayne.
“I’ve been listening to the old Lil Wayne, Tha Carter II… Like 2004 Wayne… that brings me back to my first year ever playing football…it’s been playing out pretty well.”
Responding to Jackson’s connection to the music, the retired NFL player Tom Brady, who won his second Super Bowl with the Patriots in 2004, nostalgically exclaimed, “That’s my era!”
Before the playoffs kick off, Brady’s encouraging words for Jackson are poised to inspire the young quarterback as he seeks to carve out a career reminiscent of the legendary Tom Brady.
