Ever since 2021, Velveteen Dream, a former WWE Superstar, has been absent from the world of wrestling. He took responsibility for his past actions and publicly apologized for them. Once viewed as a potential prospect in NXT, it now seems that he is considering a comeback to the ring.
Wrestling legend Booker T mentioned that Dream contacted him about a potential return to the industry. This came from a chat that Dream had with Booker T on his podcast around three months ago, during which Dream mentioned wanting to wrestle again.
Booker T provides advice to Velveteen Dream
After a series of scandals and legal troubles led to his dismissal in 2021, Velveteen Dream, who was once a prominent member of the NXT division, faced charges in April 2020. The 28-year-old, despite denying the accusations, was let go by WWE in May 2021.
Both of his August 2022 arrests were linked to his past criminal history. The first was for trespassing and first-degree assault; the second was for carrying drug paraphernalia, which was related to his November 2021 drug conviction. The former WWE NXT star recently released a video apology that lasted five minutes.
He is currently thinking about getting back into wrestling after being arrested three times in 2021 and 2022 on charges of having improper contact with youngsters. On his “Hall of Fame” podcast, Booker T brought up the fact that Velveteen Dream had contacted him about a possible return to the ring.
The Hall Of Famer said in his podcast, “I talked to Patrick Clark about three months ago. He reached out to me, he was trying to figure maybe a way to get back into the business. I told him to give me a call, and I don’t know, something happened, I don’t know what happened, I hadn’t talked to him. But I was wondering that myself. I wonder if this kid could get back in the business.”
Booker T. reflected on his time in prison
Booker T. had an ordeal growing up that included an arrest and incarceration before he even set foot in a wrestling ring. He spoke frankly about his marijuana arrest in February 2020 on the Chasing Glory podcast with Lilian Garcia. Based on his account, Booker T.’s time behind bars for aggravated robbery was a life-altering experience.
The two-time Hall of Famer Booker T. served a nineteen-month sentence before being released on parole in 1992. He decided to improve his life for the sake of staying away from it all. Even though Booker T. never spoke to the jail security officer again, he is now a famous figure because of his weekly appearances on WWE Backstage on FS1.
