WWE has featured many sports players on numerous occasions, never missing the opportunity to showcase them in WrestleMania events, either as guest stars or competitors. It all started at WrestleMania 1 when WWE invited the legendary boxer Muhammad Ali as a special guest referee.
The history continues after 40 years, as WWE reportedly has a surprise plan to invite the famous NFL player Travis Kelce to WrestleMania 40 as a special appearance.
Travis Kelce’s mother, Donna visits WWE performance center
Today, Travis Kelce’s mother, Donna has visited the WWE performance center on January 11 located in located in Orlando, Florida, which serve as training facilities for WWE wrestlers.
The official Twitter account of WWE NXT posted a photo of Donna standing along side with the Vice President of Talent Development Creative, Shawn Michaels. WWE added, “It was great to have @dkelce1 come out and visit the WWE Performance Center today!”
Travis Kelce plays for the Kansas City Chiefs, and his older brother, Jason Kelce, plays for the Philadelphia Eagles. Travis is also dating pop star Taylor Swift, who has been rumored to be interested in joining WWE.
Donna’s visit to the WWE Performance Center has almost confirmed that WWE is creatively planning to develop a storyline for Travis Kelce, involving him in a segment with any of the WWE Superstars at WrestleMania 40.
The Miz, Grayson Waller recently teased potential WrestleMania appearance for Travis Kelce
The Host of last year’s WrestleMania and the A-Lister of WWE, The Miz confirmed his interest in brining Travis Kelce to WWE. On a recent interview Miz said, ” I’m always sending, like, DMs to Travis being like, “Hey, you’d be pretty good in the ring; I think you could do pretty well. I mean, Jason Kelce, Maybe he retires after this year, and then what better way to go out than with a match at WrestleMania.”
Miz also mentioned Travis Kelce’s brother Jason Kelce and said he would like to see Jason in a match at Wrestlemania 40 before his retirement from sports. Along with Miz, the controversial star and the buddy of Austin Theory, Grayson Waller, wants Travis for a match in WrestleMania 40.
In an interview Waller said, “I’ve heard Travis Kelce is a wrestling fan, right? So hey, we’re in Philly. Maybe next year, lad, Why don’t you come and get in the ring and defend her honor? He seems like a good guy. Why don’t you come and say something to me about it, lad?”
Waller also had a controversy with Taylor Swift last year, after he mentioned Swift’s fans as the ugliest and later he apologized for his post. With all these past happenings fans are waiting to see Travis in WrestleMania going against Waller.
