One of them is, of course, Tom Brady, perhaps the greatest quarterback the league has ever seen. After the news of Belichick’s departure was confirmed, he also expressed his gratitude and reminded fans of a fabled partnership that once tormented defenses.
Tom Brady sends heartfelt note to Bill Belichick
The seven-time Super Bowl winner took to Instagram to share his feelings about the departure of Bill Belichick as the head coach of the New England Patriots. A Pats legend himself, Brady said, “I’m incredibly grateful to have played for the best coach in the history of the NFL.”
“He was a great leader for the organization, and for all of the players who played for him. We accomplished some amazing things over a long period of time, many of which will be hard to replicate,” Brady continued.
“He worked every day to help us achieve the ultimate goal, in the ultimate team sport. And, although we were successful, some of the greatest lessons I learned were in the moments where we faced the most challenging adversities. He set the tone for the organization to never falter in the face of adversity, and to do what we could do, and what was in our control, which was to go out and DO OUR JOB.”
This sincere expression of gratitude tugged at the heartstrings of many of Tom Brady’s followers, who also echoed his sentiments. One user commented, “You guys were and will remain a huge inspiration,” while another quipped, “Don’t Cry Because It’s Over, Smile Because It Happened.”
Patriots mutually part ways with Bill Belichick after 24 seasons
After a shocking 2023-24 season, owner Robert Kraft and the rest of the front office decided to part ways with Bill Belichick and bring in a new coaching mindset after 24 long years.
According to ESPN, Robert Kraft said, “This is a move that we mutually agreed that is needed at this time. What Bill accomplished, in my opinion, will never be duplicated.”

In the end, one can’t really blame the New England Patriots for sacking one of the all-time greats when it comes to coaching. Bill Belichick is and would remain one of the greatest ever to do it, but another fact that was clear as day is that his coaching style wasn’t sitting well with the current crop of the Pats, who found it really difficult to eke out wins this season.
What’s next for Belichick? Well, the seasoned veteran is being looked at by other franchises as a viable option going into the postseason, with increased interest from the likes of the Washington Commanders and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
