Bayley claims to have no issues if she gets eliminated by AJ Lee at Royal Rumble: “that’s how much I respect her”

The anticipation of the Royal Rumble is building, and with it, the rumors of unexpected participants. Spectators in both the men’s and women’s matches anxiously await surprise appearances or surprising returns from their favorite WWE stars. Bayley of Damage CTRL has stated her desire for a one-of-a-kind WWE look.

Bayley has a tremendous deal of admiration for wrestling greats, especially her idol AJ Lee. She wants to win the women’s Royal Rumble and reach WrestleMania, but she may rethink if AJ Lee returns.

Bayley wants AJ Lee back in WWE

Former Raw General Manager and three-time Divas Champion AJ Lee announced her departure from WWE after her outstanding performance in the 2012 Raw main events. She retired from professional wrestling after WrestleMania 31 in 2015, but her influence on WWE’s Women’s Revolution is indisputable. She recently posted a selfie of herself in her former ring attire, which sparked rumors of a possible comeback to the ring. Nonetheless, she re-entered the public eye when a prominent figure in the women’s division of WWE brought her up.

The Role Model Bayley has an audacious plan: when she returns to NXT, she will fight Lyra Valkyria for the women’s championship. Current champion Valkyria has held her own against formidable opponents in her title defense, but Bayley sees a chance for a shocking comeback in the Royal Rumble match. During the interview with the Gabby AF podcast, Bayley shared her goal of having every member of the Damage CTRL faction possess a gold title.

To everyone’s surprise, she said that if AJ Lee came back, she might let the previous Divas Champion beat her. The 34-year-old former champion said, “In an interview I just had, they brought up AJ Lee since CM Punk is here. I wouldn’t mind that. I might let her throw me over the top rope if she came back. That’s how much I respect her.”

Questioned about who she would want to see in the Women’s Rumble, Bayley said during her interview on Gabby AF, “Whoever wants to do a surprise entrance, just get ready to get thrown out by me. Mickie James is always awesome, I would love to see her again. Her music hits hard.”

“Trish and Lita are always so fun to get those reactions, although they were just around not too long ago, still a good reaction.”

Bayley’s relationship with AJ Lee

Bayley, a seasoned WWE champion with many titles under her belt, has an unusual goal: to win the Royal Rumble event. It doesn’t stop her from dreaming that former WWE superstar and Punk’s wife AJ Lee would come back and destroy her, no matter how determined she is. This wish is based on the true relationship that was created between them throughout AJ Lee’s six years of employment with WWE, when they were very close as employees.

Bayley recognizes the significant influence that AJ Lee has had on her wrestling experience, noting Lee’s guidance and encouragement as essential components of her accomplishments throughout the period. It is a tribute to the true ties that exist in the business of WWE that their closeness behind the scenes continues to exist, even though they have never competed in a significant in-ring battle together.

Is it your hope that Royal Rumble 2024 will fulfill Bayley’s wish? Leave a comment with your thoughts.

Oh, hi, this is Md Robin Ahmed, a WWE fan and I everyday go through a slew of popular WWE stories on Sportszion. Watching Big Show's Showstopper was the beginning of my passion for WWE, though I have to say that his Chokeslam is not one of my favorite moves. Over time, my love for professional wrestling has intensified, mostly due to the Shield, and my all-time favorite wrestler in WWE is Big Dog. I would give everything to be able to be within a few feet of him to witness his iconic Superman Punch and Spear. My major is engineering, but I'm most happy when I'm doing something artistic that doesn't put me under any pressure. Watching them wrestle and discuss their matches is always fun for me. And I've finally discovered a career that gives me fun since it allows me to with my dream heroes lifestyle. So, Welcome! I'd love to hear from you on LinkedIn and Facebook.
