Seth Rollins drops cryptic message ahead of WWE RAW World Heavyweight title clash with Jinder Mahal

In last week’s episode of RAW, Seth Rollins and Jinder Mahal had an intense promo segment where the match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship was scheduled for this week on the January 15th episode of Monday Night RAW.

Jinder Mahal’s previous promo on RAW: Day-1 was interrupted by the return of ‘The Rock’. During last week’s episode of the red brand, the ‘Modern Day Maharaja’ finally got his title shot match. Recently, Seth Rollins posted a cryptic message on social media before he clashed with the former WWE Champion.

Seth Rollins drops cryptic message before Jinder Mahal clash

Jinder Mahal, since his return on WWE TV, has been on a warpath to get the recognition he deserves by putting the gold under his belt. He even trended on Twitter after his challenge for the title was officialized. ‘The Modern Day Maharaja’ is prepared to fight ‘The Visionary’ for the WWE World Heavyweight title after he finally set his sights on it.

The match is scheduled for the January 15th episode of RAW. Following his bout with Mahal, the inaugural champ took to Twitter to share a cryptic message that leaves fans wondering the true meaning behind the words.

“The brighter the light, the darker the shadow. #WWERaw,” wrote Rollins. The message although seemed short, still holds a lot of depth. Fans assume the message might describe Seth as the light and the shadow it casts might refer to Jinder.

Seth and Jinder have a history before they even appeared in the main roster. During the August 29, 2012 episode of NXT, Rollins defeated Mahal to be the first-ever NXT Champion. This rivalry has ultimately led to the World Heavyweight title match.

Why Jinder Mahal needs to beat Seth Rollins for the title?

Jinder Mahal’s career has seen both ups and downs. During his championship reign, he proved to be a formidable opponent, but after losing his title, it started to diminish his presence in the main roster. Mahal kept trying his best to be a main-event-level superstar in the company, and finally, his efforts bore fruit.

Since ‘The Brahma Bull’ mocked Mahal and hit him with The People’s Elbow, Mahal started challenging ‘The Rock’ for the match in India, and now that the Hollywood star is ready for Roman Reigns, Mahal also changed his target into Seth Rollins. The Modern Day Maharaja’s win at the 15/24 RAW event is necessary as that can prove his capability as a deserving wrestler.

All Elite Wrestling’s President and CEO Tony Khan recently mocked the 37-year-old WWE star on his Twitter. Khan compared Jinder Mahal’s WWE World Heavyweight Title shot to AEW star Hook challenging Samoa Joe for the AEW World Title.

Tony Khan said, “A double standard: @730hook 28-1 career record, on winning streak calls out the Champ, a logical challenge sparks online outrage Jinder has literally lost every single match he’s in for the past year, immediately gets a title shot, where is the rage.”

According to the AEW owner, the double standard is clear, as Jinder has lost most of his matches in the past year and yet he gets a title shot match against Seth Rollins. Rollins’s current animosity towards CM Punk is evident, and his match against Jinder Mahal for the World title has the WWE universe excited.

The match is expected to initiate a new chapter in the Punk vs. Rollins saga. If Jinder were to win, Seth might participate in the upcoming battle royal at the January 27 event of the Royal Rumble.
