Sometimes a changing environment can work as medicine. The former Green Bay Packers’ star quarterback Aaron Rodgers has realized it following a fresh start with the New York Jets this season. The Jets not only revitalized Rodgers, but they also restored the vitality and vigor that Aaron was going to lose.
After boarding his boat in the Big Apple, the four-time MVP has added an extra energy boost in the Jets locker room. The team also awarded him with a great job for the upcoming season. Hence, this season the Jets are going to have a big blast that the seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady also projected.
Rodgers takes on captain’s role with the Jets in first year
Aaron Rodgers received an honorable mention to lead the Jets’ offense in 2023, according to the New York team’s announcement of its three season captains on Monday. C.J. Mosley was given the duty of defensive captain, while Justin Hardee was named captain of the special teams.
After an outstanding 18-year career in Green Bay, the Jets team made a splash by trading for Rodgers, giving him everything he had hoped for. After years of searching and failing to locate a suitable quarterback, the NY team appears to have found all the answers with their acquisition of A-rod in the quarterback room. So, in order to make his debut in New York more special, they granted him permission to wear a “C” jersey.
Prior to that, Aaron Rodgers performed the duty of a captain during his tenure in Green Bay where he was chosen as captain 12 times by his teammates. However, it appears that this time the newly selected captain is more eager than ever to fulfill the duties.
Brady expresses confidence in Aaron Rodgers’ success with the Jets
Many NFL fans compared A-Rod’s position to Tom Brady’s when he joined the Jets since both elite quarterbacks altered their teams as their careers were coming to an end. Whatever the case, Brady had already demonstrated before his retirement that choosing to join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was the right move for him by winning his final Super Bowl with them.
In his recent appearance in the “Let’s Go!” podcast on Monday, Tom Terrific projected a great success for the new Jets’ starter. Brady asserted that Aaron Rodgers added fuel to the Jets’ support system which is already adorned with a bunch of great players. The three-time NFL MVP also claimed that the challenges Rodgers faced during his final season in Green Bay inspired him and gave him a spark that he could use for his new beginning with the Jets.
“I’m excited to see what he does. They have a really good team. They have a really good offense. And Aaron’s been — when he’s got good receivers, man, it’s pretty dangerous. … I think he’s going to have a great year.”
Aaron Rodgers already stated his goal for this year is to win the Super Bowl with the Jets like Brady accomplished with the Bucs. Do you believe the QB could pull that off?
