A fresh news is spreading around the paddocks of Formula 1 like wildfire, Red Bull’s sister team AlphaTauri may undergo a major overhaul as the team is about to shift it’s partnership to another apparel giant amid the announcement for 2024 season.
Torro Rosso later renamed as AlphaTauri Formula 1, may well become a sister team that goes by the name of Adidas, a mega manufacturer in apparel and clothing market. AlphaTauri is already a premium brand in terms of this business but a partnership with Adidas may prove much global for the Red Bull’s sister team.
Adidas remains silent amid AlphaTauri rumors
The sportswear brand has decided to steer itself away from such rumors however and stay shut about the revelation of a potential partnership between the two firms. Bjorn Gulden who was earlier associated with Puma had caused a phenomenal rise to the glory of the brand with its close ties in Formula 1 world.
In such a situation it is very unlikely that the managing director would let go of a chance at another rise to fame for his company Adidas, which has a brand value of $40 million currently.
Their spokesperson was very adamant about not commenting on the situation while he said, “On principle, we do not participate in these speculations.” It seems like the company policies have asked to not break the silence on these stories.
However, such secrecy from Adidas’ end has only fueled the mystery even more because AlphaTauri boss Peter Bayer dropped some interesting statements, “They are involved in the new project,” with a promise that “the new name will be much bigger.”
AlphaTauri secures Yuki Tsunoda and Daniel Ricciardo
Amid the speculations about Liam Lawson getting a seat in AlphaTauri, the team has recently closed in on the roster of its drivers. They have confirmed that both Daniel Ricciardo and Yuki Tsunoda will be staying in the team for 2024.
Even though, Daniel Ricciardo isn’t currently racing due to a metacarpal injury, the team chose to believe in his talents and keep him for the upcoming season. This is a golden chance for Ricciardo who can finally show his worth if he ever wants to make way to the top spot in the Red Bull team and drive one of their ‘rocket ships’ to compete for wins and the world championship.
What do you think about entry of Adidas into the world of Formula 1, will it be a good decision or will it just be a failed marketing gimmick.
