Andrade El Idolo, also known as Andrade Cien Almas, has announced his departure from the AEW. He left WWE and joined AEW in June 2021. Andrade was a former WWE United States Champion and NXT Champion. Andrade made a notable impact during his time at AEW and impressed the fans with his high-flying and technical style.
Andrade has recently posted a thank you note on social media announcing his departure from AEW and expressing gratitude to the AEW members for their support.
Andrade bids farewell to AEW
Today on social media, Andrade officially declared his exit from AEW. He wrote, “I want to thank you for this time that I belonged to the company @aew and above all to Tony khan I also want to say goodbye to all the talent, security people, cameramen, referees and everyone who works in the company for being part of my time in AEW.”
He also thanked the entire AEW crew and added special mentions to Kenny Omega, Young Bucks, Orange and many other AEW Superstars.
In his recent bout, Andrade faced Miro in a singles match at AEW Worlds End 2023, which was the final PPV of the year for the company. The match ended in a shocking betrayal, as Andrade’s manager, Chavo Guerrero, turned on him and hit him with a steel chair, allowing Miro to capitalize and win the match.
Andrade was managed by legendary Vickie Guerrero, who had feuded with several AEW superstars including Pac and Kenny Omega during her time as a WWE great. He had a respectable run in AEW, but he was never able to win a championship.
Andrade expected to return to WWE
There have been rumors circulating that Andrade may be making a return to WWE following his departure from AEW. In 2020, he decided to part ways with WWE because he was not satisfied with how he was being booked and the creative direction of the company.
Andrade is expected to reunite with his former manager Zelina Vega, who posted a photo of them together on a recent Instagram story. They both had good chemistry in WWE and they also competed in a tag team match in Smackdown.
Andrade was a fan favorite in WWE and won the United States Championship from Hall Of Famer Rey Mysterio, who is currently sidelined due to an injury. Andrade also won the NXT Championship in 2017 by defeating Drew McIntyre at NXT TakeOver: WarGames.
Andrade is also rumored to join forces with his real life partner Charlotte Flair. Both got married last year after being in a relationship for 2 years. Flair has recently signed a multi-year contract and WWE will be interested in bringing Andrade back to WWE to form a team with the real-time couples.
