In the previous two weeks, the Buffalo Bills have not only failed to secure a victory but also fell behind in the divisional standings. Keeping themselves ahead considerably from the race for the top spot in their division, this week, they had nothing on their minds other than winning when they stepped onto the field against their divisional rivals New York Jets.
Fortuitously, the Buffalo team emerged victorious in this game in a convincing manner, ensuring peace and confidence for them until the next week’s game. However, even with a victory for the Bills, the night did not conclude peacefully as they couldn’t bid farewell to the Jets team with tranquility.
Bills and Jets players engage in post-game tunnel Brawl
Week 11 presented a strong Bills display that their fans were eagerly waiting to see. After blowing out the Jets with a 32-6 score on the scoreboard, the team players had nothing but to enjoy and scatter the joy among themselves and the fans.
The enjoyment suddenly turned into an ugly brawl, though, the main scenario behind the altercation was undefined. As the players were leaving the field through the tunnel, a sudden alteration was noticed between the Bills guard Dion Dawkins and Jets defensive tackle Michael Clemons.
Connor Hughs reported that a Buffalo team player was heard saying, “And we beat that ass, too!” when he was on his way to the locker room. The alteration was perhaps a consequence of Dawkins and Clemson during the fourth quarter of the game.
After a play, Dawkins jumped on Clemons, according to Yahoo Sports. Clemons pushed Dawkins to the ground, demonstrating to him his physical strength. Dawkins appeared to be trying to pretend to be hurt when he struck the Jets player once more by flipping over onto his back. Dawkins later had to deal with a penalty as a result of the maneuver.
It’s not the first time the Bills player engaged in alteration. Their unwelcoming brawl against the New York Giants prompted the NFL legend Tom Brady to share a mantra to reduce pressure on the field.
Bills bounce back in AFC East
The Bills began the week with a humiliating defeat in prime time, but they soon moved past the tumultuous event and engaged the supporters in a fierce rivalry for the duration of the game. Finally, they vented their frustrations on their AFC East rival, allowing their offense to take center stage and get back on track.
The Bills quarterback Josh Allen was the leading hero behind the convincing win, posting three touchdown passes and a once-stagnating offense. His touchdown passes assisted him to break the franchise record set by Hall of Famer Jim Kelly during the 1986-87 seasons.
Following the firing of Ken Dorsey, not only Allen but also the whole team was in a fierce look to get back their position and save respective jobs. Under new quarterback coach Joe Brady, the Bills robbed their first win and snapped a two-game skid.
Under his guidance, the team was spotted in such a balanced way that a win could be expected easily. Meanwhile, the Week 11 win also aided them to top 25 points for the first time in seven weeks.
With 6-5 standings, the Bills already grasped the second position just one point behind the Miami Dolphins.
Do you think they can upset the Philadelphia Eagles next week and let the winning run go on?
