The NFL fans and pundits were speculating about the San Francisco 49ers’ potential move of making Nick Bosa the highest-paid defender in the NFL by surpassing the earlier $31.6 million annual mark for their top pass rusher in the league.
The 49ers have time till September 10 to reach a conclusion regarding their veteran star before they face off against the Pittsburgh Steelers in the regular season opener matchup. Meanwhile, Nick might get slapped with a huge amount after missing the preseason game, as he missed the mandatory minicamp and the start of training camp as well.
49ers DE Nick Bosa likely to face $992,166 for missing NFL preseason game
According to Mike Florio of NBC Sports’ Pro Football Talk, Bosa might have to face $40,000 for missing each day of the team’s training camp.
Florio further provided a snap of the young star’s accumulated fines saying, “Per Article 7, Section 7(h) of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, Bosa also can be fined a regular-season game check for each preseason game boycotted. At a base salary of $17.859 million, Bosa can be fined $992,166 for missing today’s preseason game against the Raiders.”
OH WOW: As per the rules, San Francisco #49ers star pass rusher Nick Bosa who is currently holding out due to wanting a contract extension, will face a fine of $992,166 for skipping today's preseason matchup vs. the #Raiders, per @ProFootballTalk 🤯🤯🤯

However, the NFL insider noted San Francisco can help their veteran star Nick in this situation as the CBA does not restrict the franchise from waiving the fine. But, if the 49ers front office decides to stay indifferent to the 25-year-old’s current situation, they might end up losing one of the best defensive players in the NFL.
49ers receive brutal criticism from the NFL community after ugly loss vs Raiders
The 49ers squad debuted their preseason with a major blow after going down to the Las Vegas Raiders 34-7 at the Allegiant Stadium. Even the team’s head coach Kyle Shanahan stated his disappointment at the team’s performance following two joint practices with the Raiders on Thursday and Friday. The HC was more dissatisfied with his squad’s low effort on the field and said he didn’t enjoy the game at all.
Like Kyle, the 49ers fans expressed their outrage following the poor game and took to Twitter to convey some harsh comments regarding the situation.

Shanahan’s weapons are set to face off against the Denver Broncos in their second preseason matchup at Levi’s Stadium on 19 August. Shortly afterward they are scheduled to fly to Santa Clara to get back on the practice field.
Now it remains to be seen if the team can bounce back following the disappointing match and gain fans’ trust ahead of the regular season.
