Lionel Messi had a mixed start to his Inter Miami career. The World Cup winner greatly improved the Florida-based club in the first few matches until injury problems forced him out of the team, which led to a poor run of form for Gerardo Martino’s men.
Despite the disappointments, Lionel Messi managed to deliver the club’s first trophy and is now set to stay at the club. The former Barcelona man has started his off-season by posing for a picture with Ed Sheeran alongside his wife, Antonella Roccuzzo and children.

Lionel Messi loves himself some quality family time. It was reported that the World Cup winner chose Inter Miami in the MLS over some huge money in the Middle East to stay closer to home and raise his children in a more diverse environment.
After a hectic few months at Inter Miami, the regular MLS season is now over, and Messi has a few more months to recharge before the 2024 season kickstarts. The seven-time Ballon d’Or has started his off-season in the best way possible by posing with UK legendary singer Ed Sheeran.
Lionel Messi shared this picture on his Instagram account in the late hours of Monday, with Ed Sheeran striking a pose with the Argentine’s wife, Antonela Roccuzzo, and three children, Tiago, Mateo, and Ciro.
While it wasn’t clear what the event was, Lionel Messi appeared relaxed as he also shared another photo of his family without Ed Sheeran in the same post. Messi donned a red and white Adidas pair of sneakers with an accompanying white shirt, which all his children, except the youngest, also wore.

Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami missed the MLS playoffs
Lionel Messi and Inter Miami had only one dream when they decided to get together in July: getting to the MLS playoffs. Although it seemed like an impossible task, there was a growing feeling in the team that they could achieve it, and boy, they tried! Unfortunately, injuries hampered Messi’s progress, which consequently ended Inter Miami’s hopes of reaching the playoffs.
Lionel Messi sustained an injury while on international duty with Argentina and struggled to stay fit for the remainder of Inter Miami’s campaign. Messi, who is now the world’s most marketable athlete, according to Sports Pro, is reportedly not looking for a loan deal to move to Barcelona during the MLS off-season.
Instead, he wants to work hard for the next few months and achieve success with the David Beckham-owned MLS franchise next year when the league resumes. Messi may also see a familiar face in Florida as reports of a possible reunion with Luis Suarez have resurfaced in the past few days.
