After Joe Mixon’s road rage trial acquittal, Bengals RB announces to boycott certain media outlets for “disrespectful behavior”

After being charged with aggravated menacing earlier this year, Bengals veteran Joe Mixon was deemed not guilty of the crime last week and shortly after the hearing, he joined back with his team, the Cincinnati Bengals

Mixon has remained silent about the occurrences and has declined to speak to reporters after going through a rather traumatic legal lawsuit period. The running back felt some reporters’ reports and questions were very rude and decided to strike back.

Joe made the announcement that he wasn’t going to be interacting with reporters from particular outlets following the training session on Sunday after joining back with the team. Although the player didn’t specify exactly which reports and questions were so offensive, he determined that it was “disrespectful behavior” and went forward with repercussions.

According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, he would not boycott the publications as a whole but would instead opt to refuse to speak with some reporters from Sports Illustrated, The Cincinnati Enquirer, Pro Football Network, and ESPN.

During an argument, the 43-year-old accuser claimed that the 27-year-old pulled a gun on her and threatened to shoot. The lady asserted that after the player cut her off in traffic, the two of them exchanged words of rage until JM pointed a gun at her when their cars came to a halt.

Just a few days after the complaint was made, Mixon was found not guilty of any crimes related to the incident. However, the investigation was revived after officials claimed to have discovered “new evidence” and the Bengals player eventually entered a not-guilty plea to the accusation. On Thursday morning, a court in Cincinnati ruled that Bengals running back Joe Mixon was not guilty of misdemeanor aggravated threatening.

“The organization is pleased that this matter is now behind everyone, and we look forward to an exciting season with Joe being an important part of the football team.”

Considering all the turmoil Mixon has gone through, it will be interesting to see if he manages to make a proper comeback!
