After NFL analyst’s “worst deep ball passer” remark, Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa sets sights on Super Bowl glory

Tua Tagovailoa ‘reportedly’ held himself accountable for every win and defeat of his club after beginning his NFL career with the Miami Dolphins. As a result, even when everyone turns their back on the team, the Dolphins player who is likely to maintain optimism seems to be the team’s star quarterback.

The quarterback and his team have already received a critical response from an NFL commentator before the start of the new season, but the quarterback seemed unfazed about the situation and expresses high hopes for the next campaign.

NFL analyst throws brutal dig at Tua

Tua seemingly embraced the challenge of managing one of the league’s top passing systems, and the Iron Man was rather successful in doing so with a passer rating of 105.5, 3548 yards, 25 touchdown passes, and 8 interceptions in 13 games during his final season.

Despite Tagovailoa’s outstanding performance on the field, radio host Craig Carton was not enthusiastic in describing him as magnificent in his final statement. Although Carton thought the quarterback had eye-popping numbers, none of them looked sufficient to prove his superiority.

The radio broadcaster also cast some doubt on Tagovailoas’ lone performance, claiming Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle were also involved.

“I said there is a stat out there like pro football, whatever it is – right? – that would tell you statistically that he had the best numbers in deep-ball accuracy,” Carton said. “Sometimes, the eye test is more important than the stat test, and here’s why. Take Plaxico Burress. Great wide receiver. He’s 6-6. He gets open right?”

The 25-year-old recorded a passer rating of 122.1 when throwing the ball deep last season. Still, Crag declared him as the league’s worst deep-ball passer,

“And he’s down the field 50 yards and he’s got his man beat by 7 yards, and I come in, I throw like Tua and I underthrow by 30 yards, but Plax is good enough to come back and get it. I get credit for that, which is why that deep-ball stat for Tua is a joke. He’s the worst deep-ball passer in all of football.”

Tua Tagovailoa believes the Dolphins are Super Bowl contenders

The Dolphins’ player is entering his third season with the squad. In every season, he seems to emerge with a newer and stronger resolve to destroy the legacy of the opposition.

The Miami Dolphins had a 9-8 record at the end of the regular season, going 6-2 at home and 3-6 away from home. Their veteran was mostly responsible for those victories. Without paying much attention to the criticism of his stat, Tua declared his team to be a legitimate Super Bowl contender in the middle of the debate.

The player appears to possess a great sense of loyalty to his team and thinks that they have one of the best lineups on both defense and offense, which should serve as a reminder to the competitors of just how formidable they are.

“I think we’re definitely legit contenders,” he said. “There’s no doubt with the guys we have on the defensive side of the ball. With the guys we have on the offensive side of the ball, I think it can get very, very scary, pretty dangerous.”

It is always easier to talk the talk, but Tagovailoa has a great opportunity to silence the critics with his actions in the coming season.
