After NFL’s new commercial sparks online buzz, Kirk Cousins embraces “mustache Monday” trend despite wife’s reaction

Kirk Cousins, the protagonist of the first season of the Netflix sports documentary “Quarterback,” believes that a mustache completes a man’s appearance. However, before the start of the regular season, the quarterback, who had already attracted a lot of attention, took the risk to unveil a new style with a mustache. Cousin has never tried the mustache look before.

Following receiving attention for his appearance in the NFL’s season-opening commercial, the Vikings veteran player, who is entering his 12th season in the league, revealed his new, daring style in their last preseason game.

Kirk cousins’ “mustache Monday” evolves into playful “mustache week”

The Vikings team had decided to grow facial hair in preparation for “Mustache Monday,” which Kirk Cousins had previously mentioned during training camp. As a result, he and the other members of his Vikings squad all grew out amusing mustaches and took a group photo on Monday.

The 35-year-old, however, fell in love with his first appearance sporting a mustache and made the decision to carry on the look to “Mustache Week.” At their preseason game on Saturday against the Arizona Cardinals, where the Vikings lost 17-18 to the Arizona team, he made his debut with the all-new look.

The Vikings supporters experienced a bad day following the team’s loss, though, Cousins’ new appearance offered them something to smile and celebrate about. Unfortunately, his wife Julie did not like his new appearance. Yet, Julie was later pleased that his sweetheart decided to shave his face following Saturday’s game.

The Vikings have a 13-4 record heading into the 2023 season, and their seasoned quarterback is prepared to reprise his role as a hero again. In 17 games in 2022, the former Washington Commanders player had 4,547 yards, 29 touchdown passes, and 14 interceptions for a quarterback rating of 92.5.

Furthermore, to commemorate Viking’s victories, he frequently wore colorful chains, which made all of his victories in the previous season stand out. In a 2022 game in which the Vikings defeated the Commanders 20-17, the team’s icon removed his shirt to celebrate his team’s outstanding victory.

Prior to the start of the regular season, the Vikings quarterback again gained new notoriety on Monday when he appeared in the league’s newest season-opening commercial “You Can’t Make This Stuff Up”. He was spotted wearing a shirtless “Kirko Chainz” look. What if we played shirts vs. skins this time? he was seen saying while wearing a golden chain.

Kirk was not the only well-known person to catch the attention of the camera in the advertisement. Comedian Keegan-Michael Key, Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Jason Kelce, Ja’Marr Chase, and Jalen Ramsey were also noticed in the ad. Keegan-Michael was spotted in charge of the director welcoming the member saying, “so welcome to the table read for the 104th season of the NFL.”
