After securing win on Jake Paul vs Nate Diaz undercard, ex-UFC fighter issue daring challenge to Anthony Pettis

Chris Avila, who successfully transitioned from MMA to professional boxing, continues to solidify his position as a boxer with another impressive win. His determination to succeed remains unwavering, as demonstrated by his recent challenge to Anthony Pettis.

The trend of MMA fighters transitioning to boxing is not uncommon, with many opting to switch disciplines either midway through or at the end of their MMA careers. Both Pettis and Avila fall into this category, having embraced boxing a few years ago.

Chirs Avila calls out Anthony Pettis

After his recent victory in the ring,  Avila called out Pettis, expressing his desire to face the former UFC fighter before the 2023 ends. Avila sees Pettis as a potential opponent to challenge in his boxing journey as Anthony also started his pro boxing career lately.

“He just came off a boxing fight with Roy Jones Jr. He’s getting into boxing. He’s a vet. He’s a f****** OG.” Chris said.

At Gamebred Boxing 4’s main event at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Pettis squared off against legendary boxer Roy Jones. In his professional boxing debut, ‘Showtime’ successfully had a majority decision win.

The former Bellator fighter has a particular fight date and venue in mind for his match against the ‘Showtime’. He is looking forward to collaborate with The Real Fight Inc. to co-promote the fight set to take place in Las Vegas.

“I think that would be an entertaining fight for me to show my skills off and represent for my team and for Real Fight Inc.” Avila added.

Chris Avila beats Jeremy Stephens on Jake Paul vs Nate Diaz undercard

Last week, at the Dallas American Airlines Center, Chris secured a victory over Jeremy Stephens as the undercard of the Jake Paul vs Nate Diaz.

This triumph marked the fourth consecutive win for the Stockton native who also had a brief stint in the UFC back in 2016. However, his journey in boxing began with a loss in his debut bout against Vicente Guzman.

Avila rebounded by winning his next four bouts against opponents like Anthony Taylor, Doctor Mike, Paul Bamba, and most recently, Jeremy Stephens.
