Lately, there appears to be some tension among The O.C. members, particularly following AJ Styles’ recent return to WWE. In a backstage segment in December, Styles seemed to shun the faction, suggesting his focus on his solo career. Since then, Styles has taken on a more intense and edgier character as a solo wrestler.
During the latest episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown, Styles had a backstage segment with one of his former The O.C. stablemates, Michin, and he appeared to be disappointed in her.
AJ Styles disappointed at Michin
AJ Styles’ personality has undergone a drastic change since his return from injury, which fans may have noticed. He has parted ways with his stablemates from The O.C. faction, particularly Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson, and Michin. The Phenomenal One has showcased a completely different side of himself, as evidenced by his unexpected actions in a non-televised segment of SmackDown.
On the latest episode of Friday Night SmackDown, AJ Styles participated in a three-on-two handicap match and a backstage segment featuring his former stablemate Michin. In that segment, Michin approached AJ Styles to ask for tips as she faced defeat last week in her WWE Women’s Championship match against IYO SKY. The former WWE champion asked her if she had won the battle, and when she replied in the negative, Styles walked away in disappointment. This segment was uploaded by WWE on their official YouTube channel and was not televised.
Iyo Sky defends WWE women’s title against Michin
Iyo Sky successfully defended her WWE Women’s Championship against a top female star on the January 5 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, and that top star is none other than a former member of The O.C. faction, Michin.
Michin has been targeted by Damage CTRL ever since they brutally attacked her on WWE SmackDown a few weeks ago. She has been determined to foil Damage CTRL’s plans in recent weeks, which led to her getting a title opportunity against Iyo Sky on the first SmackDown episode of the year. Both women put on a spectacular contest.
During the match against Iyo Sky, Michin proved that she deserved to be in the ring and was a worthy opponent. She gave it her all and even executed an AJ Styles Clash off the middle rope, but unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to secure the win. Eventually, Iyo managed to retain her title by using her signature move, Over the Moonsault. This was the first time that Iyo had defeated Michin in a singles competition.
