Over the years there have been many NBA players who have released their short films and documentaries which gained massive success. Some have even won the prestigious Academy awards and others followed the path.
Allen Iverson, who has been one of the most influential players of all time, is ready to take the same route. Now it’s time for Allen Iverson to tell his story “authentic and unapologetically.” With the new documentary, the countless stories and events that the former Sixers man has in store will finally come to the fore.
Allen Iverson new documentary is being worked on
The Philadelphia 76ers legend Allen Iverson has received the nod from Amazon Prime and is all set to show the world his journey through his lenses with a little guidance from the pros in this field, Stephen Curry and Shaquille O’Neal’s production company.
Athletes appear in front of the fans on their respective fields but what goes unnoticed are the different layers to them and what happens behind the scenes. Regarding the new project, the Hall of Famer stated, “I look forward to people seeing a side of me they haven’t seen before.”
Iverson played for four different NBA franchises in his 14-season-long career. Appearing for 914 regular-season games, he averaged 26.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 6.2 assists. The 2001 MVP has been a part of the All-Star game eleven times which shows the humongous popularity Iverson had.
Despite not having his hands on The Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy the veteran is considered to be one of the greatest players to have ever played the sport.
Shaquille O’Neal’s statement on Allen Iverson documentary
Shaquille O’Neal, who has had the opportunity of playing at the same time as the Sixers legend Allen Iverson, but in different teams, has opened up about the 48-year-old guard’s impact in the league.
Talking about the player whom Shaq had faced multiple times on the court, especially during the 2001 NBA Finals, the Lakers legend O’Neal said, “Allen was a pioneer in the world of sports and entertainment. His cultural impact was bigger than basketball, and this documentary sets out to properly define his legacy.”
The release date of the documentary, produced by Jersey Legends and Unanimous Media, has not been shared yet but it will surely make an equally big impression that Iverson had in NBA.
Shaquille O’Neal recently invited Allen Iverson to his “The Big podcast” to discuss all things related to the game and some off-the-court ones. The duo’s latest collab will now provide even more insights to the legendary career of Allen Iverson.
