NBA icon Allen Iverson recently revealed the name of a current NBA player whom he thinks would be his perfect teammate. Iverson is known for his tenacity and athleticism from his playing days, and it would only be a worthy NBA star that the legend himself would like to play with.
When asked about a current NBA player he would prefer to play alongside, he named Mavs ace Luka Doncic. Doncic has been a great player in his career so far, and he recently shared his dream of owning a farm in Slovenia after he is done playing.
Allen Iverson names Luka Doncic as ideal teammate
NBA Icon Allen Iverson recently named Luka Doncic as his ideal teammate when he appeared on the show ‘Headliners’ hosted by Rachel Nichols. Iverson talked about various topics, and an interview segment was also involved with questions and answers. During the interview, Rachel asked Iverson to name a player from the current NBA roster who he would want as a teammate.
Iverson thought momentarily and took the name of the Mavericks star Luka Doncic. “I would want it to be Luka. Because he is a big point guard. I can still play the 2, he can guard the two, and I can guard the one. You know what I mean? I think it would be very deadly,” said Iverson.
Allen might not be entirely wrong in choosing Luka and naming their pairing as deadly. Iverson has experience playing both as a point guard and as a shooting guard. Given the wide skill set of both players, with Luka playing as a PG and Allen as an SG, it could have been a dream duo for many fans.
Allen Iverson’s stats while playing PG
Allen Iverson has played for 4 teams including the Nuggets and the 76ers. During that time, he has mostly fulfilled the role of a point guard in those teams. Iverson averaged 25.6 points, 6.9 assists, and 3.6 rebounds in his stint as a point guard.
Iverson was also selected as the Rookie of the Year in his debut season and has also played in 10 All-Star games in his career. He was a key player for the Philadelphia 76ers in their 2000-01 NBA finals appearance.
Allen’s induction into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame came in 2016. After quitting the sport for almost a decade, Iverson came up with a surreal confession aligning himself with the legendary Michael Jordan and the legendary pop star Michael Jackson.
