Andrade El Idolo of AEW made his CMLL wrestling comeback on December 22 at the CMLL Super Viernes pay-per-view, and his real-life partner Charlotte Flair was there as well. WWE has already signed her to a multi-year deal.
A video of Flair on crutches was released, highlighting her public appearance despite suffering an injury while competing on WWE SmackDown. She was in good spirits, cheering Andrade on from ringside. Andrade tweeted only two words to let everyone know she was there.
Andrade reacts to Charlotte Flair’s latest appearance
According to reports, Charlotte Flair is now awaiting surgery to repair her injuries, which include a ruptured ACL, MCL, and meniscus. Despite taking a break from wrestling, the former WWE Women’s Champion continues to support her husband, Andrade El Idolo.
The newlyweds have been open about their love on various social media accounts since May 2022. Andrade recently had a triumphant comeback to CMLL, and Flair was seen in the crowd. The 34-year-old wrestling star tweeted a touching photo of himself and his wife during the occasion captioning, “Date night!!!! @MsCharlotteWWE.”
When the pair finally announced their love in 2020, fans were overjoyed. Their wedding took place two years later. The Queen recently spoke in several interviews about the unwavering support her husband provides her when circumstances become tough.
Charlotte set for lengthy WWE absence
Charlotte Flair suffered a serious leg injury in a bout against Asuka on SmackDown’s Tribute to the Troops program. The injury proved to be much more serious than anticipated. Fans were worried when the Queen suffered an injury while losing to The Empress of Tomorrow in a match that was ruled to have been interfered with by Bayley.
Upsetting scenes ensued after the bout as Charlotte Flair clenched her knee and screamed in agony. She was removed for a comprehensive checkup when medical staff hurried to help her. Later reports verified an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), medial collateral ligament (MCL), and meniscus rupture; a potential neck injury was also mentioned, but not proven.
Charlotte Flair, according to WWE, will have surgery in early January and will need nine months to recuperate. If PWInsider’s schedule is correct, Her Majesty will most certainly not return until October 2024.
