Antonio Brown lavishes praise on Mike Tomlin after Steelers defeat Seahawks to keep NFL playoff hopes alive

The Pittsburgh Steelers faced some challenges this season, including punishments for players like Damontae Kazee and Jaylen Warren, as well as losses against struggling teams like the New England Patriots and Arizona Cardinals. However, their recent victory against the Cincinnati Bengals proved to be a turning point, reigniting their confidence and setting the stage for a dominant win in Week 17.

Facing the Seattle Seahawks was anticipated to be a significant challenge for Mike Tomlin’s team, and overcoming this hurdle became proof of their determination, with which they garnered admiration from their former player, Antonio Brown.

Antonio Brown hails Steelers HC, Mike Tomlin

Following the Steelers’ dominating win over the Seahawks, Antonio Brown also turned into a fan of Mike Tomlin, as the head coach is making headlines for his 17th straight winning season. Hence, he did not waste time showcasing his admiration for the head coach and reached out to his X account soon.

Brown, who recently criticized NFL analyst Mike Florio, posted a photo of Tomlin with the caption “My nigga,” acknowledging the coach’s legacy of consistently avoiding losing seasons.

Interestingly, despite this show of respect, it wasn’t too long ago that Brown publicly urged Tomlin to leave the Steelers organization. In an X post back in October, after a significant defeat to the Houston Texans, Brown advised Tomlin to consider leaving before his legacy was tarnished. He cited the treatment of past Steelers legends, including himself, Troy Polamalu, Ryan Clark, Ike Taylor, and Larry Foote, as a cautionary tale about the potential impact on Tomlin’s legacy, according to Marca.

In an X post, Brown wrote, “Coach T, get out of there before they ruin your legacy. You saw what they did to AB, TP, RC, IT, LF. You know how the story ends.”

Brown’s concern was rooted in the belief that the organization’s actions could negatively affect Tomlin’s standing in the Steelers’ history. However, Tomlin chose to stay, demonstrating his leadership prowess.

Nevertheless, Tomlin chose to stay and has proven his prowess in turning the team’s struggles into strengths. Despite Brown’s earlier reservations, the Steelers are now in the No. 3 seed of the AFC North with a 9-7 record after their recent victory against the Seahawks.

Steelers defeat Seahawks

In a crucial Week 17 matchup, the Pittsburgh Steelers secured a significant 30-23 victory over the Seattle Seahawks. The Seahawks, coming off two consecutive wins, were vying for a playoff spot in the competitive NFC race. However, the Steelers had their own playoff aspirations and managed to emerge victorious at Lumen Field.

The game started with the Seahawk’s defense forcing an early stop, leading to a 0-7 lead by the end of the first quarter. Despite this setback, the Steelers quickly rebounded, regaining possession and showcasing their offensive prowess. Quarterback Mason Rudolph delivered a solid performance through the air, but it was the dynamic running game that stole the spotlight.

Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren combined for an impressive 197 yards and three touchdowns on the ground, highlighting the Steelers’ versatility and dominance in different facets of the game. The running game played a crucial role in securing Pittsburgh’s victory and maintaining their momentum.

As the game progressed, the Steelers extended their lead with consecutive field goals from Chris Boswell, emphasizing their control over the match. By the end of the third quarter, the scoreboard reflected a commanding 17-24 lead for Pittsburgh. Despite opportunities for the Seahawks to mount a comeback, Tomlin’s team held their ground, securing a vital win that improved their standings and playoff prospects.

The 9-7 Pittsburgh team will take the field to battle with the Baltimore Ravens in Week 18. Do you think that the team can pull together another upset win?
