Arsenal eyes Ajax’s Jorrel Hato for January transfer to bolster defensive options

Arsenal are currently flying in the Premier League and are strongly challenging for the Premier League title. The Gunners have become a strong team under manager Mikel Arteta and are looking to win their first league trophy after 20 years.

But they are facing some strong hurdles, and there are some injuries that have kept some players out. With the January transfer window coming up, Arsenal have the chance to add some more squad depth in order to further strengthen their team.

Arsenal shows interest in 17-year-old Ajax defender Jorrel Hato

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has already publicly stated his desire to reinforce the defense of his team. The Gunners are seriously lacking good alternatives on the bench, with some crucial injuries to players like Jurrien Timber affecting the manager’s choices heavily.

And to make sure that they don’t lack a good backup defender, they are going to be on the market for a new defender. And now it is confirmed that they are looking into Jorrel Hato, a 17-year-old defender from Ajax.

Jorrel is very versatile and is left-footed, so he can play at both left back and left center back positions. This is a quality the North Londoners desperately need in their club. Hato has been a shining thing in a season that Ajax fans can call one of their worst ever.At just 17, he was their youngest captain ever in a European game as well.

Ajax may not want to let go of such a talented player for a low fee, and so Arsenal may back out of the deal. A short loan deal is very much possible however. But it remains to Ajax if they would be willing to do so.

Trent Alexander-Arnold hails impact for Arsenal’s new recruit Declan Rice

Arsenal have been on a different level this year, and part of it is all thanks to the signing of Declan Rice, who has been a difference-maker for the club on numerous occasions. His most recent example was against Liverpool, with defender Trent Alexander-Arnold noticing it as well.

The right back said regarding Rice’s impact on his team since his arrival, “Whether it is Rice or how they adapted, I feel they have gone up a level this season.”

As they are teammates for the England national team, Trent knows exactly how crucial Rice is to any team. He further said Rice is helping Arsenal win in a dominant fashion and in important areas: “It feels like they are winning in a different way. He has been a big part of that. I have shared the pitch with him with England and know what he offers and brings to a team. You can see it in how he plays; breaking up the play, getting the team up the pitch and a lot of the dirty work.”

Arsenal will next play against West Ham in the Premier League tomorrow night and continue their Premier League title charge.
