Aurelien Tchouameni Injury: Real Madrid star midfielder sidelined for minimum of six weeks with fracture following win over Barcelona

Real Madrid and it’s fans are currently enjoying themselves after they pulled off a comeback 2-1 victory against Barcelona yesterday. New superstar signing Jude Bellingham led the team to the victory as he scored two goals to bring home another valuable three points.

But the club also got bad news after the match. Aurelien Tchouameni, one of the team’s best players and a crucial presence in the midfield, is now set to miss a lot of games over the next few days.

Aurelien Tchouameni injured

Aurelien Tchouameni had played all 90 minutes in the El Clasico, but after the match, it was revealed that he had been injured. Medical tests were carried out yesterday, which revealed worrying news for the club. The player has apparently torn his metatarsal in his left leg.

The club released a statement regarding the injury: “After the tests carried out on AurĂ©lien Tchouameni by Real Madrid Medical Services, the player has been diagnosed with an incomplete stress fracture in the second metatarsal of the left foot. His progress is to be monitored.”

While the club hasn’t said how long he will be out, the usual recovery time for this type of injury takes between 6 to 8 weeks. If he recovers well, he could be back on the pitch by the middle of December.

He will miss a lot of games, though luckily for Madrid, not against any big teams. He will miss La Liga games against Rayo Vallecano, Valencia, Cádiz, Granada, Real Betis, and Villarreal. Meanwhile, he will also not be in the team for the rest of the Champions League group stage matches against Braga, Napoli, and Union Berlin. Additionally, he will miss a Copa del Rey game.

Who can potentially replace Aurelien Tchouameni in Real Madrid XI?

The absence of Aurelien Tchouameni is still grave news for the club. He has been one of the club’s best players in the midfield, confidently replacing veterans Toni Kroos and Luka Modric. Real Madrid are yet to lose in any match that the Frenchman has started this season.

And yet manager Carlo Ancelotti now has to think of replacing the player in every game. After all, they still have to challenge for the La Liga trophy and Champions League. But Madrid can now trust in another versatile player in the squad, who is also another Frenchman. That is Eduardo Camavinga, who now can safely slot into the defensive midfield position, one of his natural positions. He was forced to play in other positions, mainly the left back position but can now play in his comfort zone.

Furthermore, Madrid still have veterans Luka Modric and Toni Kroos to take help. While it is not their natural positon, they can still put in a decent performance. Players like Federico Valverde, Dani Ceballos, and Lucas Vazquez are also good options.

The manager will have to weigh up his options soon as Real Madrid will take on Rayo Vallecano on Monday. We wish Aurelien Tchouameni a speedy recovery.
