Baron Corbin reacts to infamous Roman Reigns segment
The segment took place on the December 6, 2019 episode of SmackDown when Corbin and his allies, Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode, ambushed Reigns after his match with Roode. They handcuffed Reigns to the ring post, pouring a significant amount of canned dog food over his head and body while mocking him and referring to him as a “big dog.” Recently, Corbin reacted to the video footage of the segment, commenting, “That legit almost made me vomit. It smelled so, so bad.”
However, the segment was widely criticized by fans and media, who found it to be gross, childish, and uncreative. Many people also felt sorry for Reigns, who had to endure such a disgusting and degrading treatment.
The segment was also a ratings disaster, as it drew the lowest viewership for SmackDown since moving to Fox. Corbin may be one of the most hated and despised heels in WWE, but he is also one of the most dedicated and professional wrestlers in the business.
Paul Heyman discussed Roman Reigns mindset after that feud
Paul Heyman is the special counsel and the advocate of Roman Reigns, the current Universal Champion and the head of the Bloodline. Heyman has been by Reigns’ side since his shocking heel turn in 2020 and helped Reigns to become the most dominant and powerful force in WWE.
In an interview with Rick Rubin, Heyman discussed Roman Reigns’ mindset after the dog food feud. Roman said to Heyman, “‘I’ve had enough. I’ve reached the cap. I can’t go any further. As the big dog I’ve peaked. and as an athlete, I haven’t peaked as a performer. I’ve barely scratched the surface. I have so much more to offer and since I’m taking time off, I’m not coming back as the same person”.
Heyman stated that the dog food segment was one of the factors that led Reigns to realize he had enough of the creative direction and booking decisions that were holding him back. Heyman’s discussion of Roman Reigns’ mindset post-dog food feud highlights the significant change and evolution in Reigns since then.
It also underscores his strong belief in his vision and mission. Now, Heyman and Reigns form the most powerful and influential duo in WWE, with Heyman serving as the special counsel and Reigns as the Tribal Chief.
