The feud between The Man, Becky Lynch and Nia Jax is one of the most intense and personal rivalries in WWE history. They never competed in any matches in the past, but Lynch has a history of suffering brutal injuries in the ring, especially at the hands of Nia Jax.
The history continued on the Day 1 episode of Monday Night RAW, as Lynch was again injured during a singles match with the Irresistible Force, Jax.
Becky Lynch injury update
On the first RAW episode of 2024, on Day 1 Becky Lynch and Nia Jax competed in a singles match. Jax dominated the entire match and at the end of the match, Lynch tried to jump from the top rope, but Jax capitalized and delivered a big right hand on Lynch’s face.
Lynch was busted open after the attack by Jax. Fans believed that WWE had planned the incident, but the injury was real. As per fans reports from the arena, Lynch made her way to the backstage area on her own, and she looked alright.
Previously at Night of Champions Lynch suffered a severe laceration on her arm during her match with the Hall of Fame Trish Stratus. Lynch was out of action for 2 months and that caused her to get 11 stitches on her arm.
This was the second injury on Day 1 of RAW, as previously Giovanni Vinci suffered a head injury during a tag team match between Jey Uso and Kofi Kingston on the same day. After the match, Lynch was involved in a backstage interview and expected to appear on RAW next week to go against Jax.
Nia Jax pins Becky Lynch
On the Day 1, RAW episode, Nia Jax took advantage of a distraction by Zoey Stark, who attacked Becky Lynch from behind. Jax then hit Lynch with a Samoan Drop and covered her and won the match by pinfall. Jax’s brutal right hand during the game gave Lynch a bloody nose, which wasn’t intentional.
Before the match, Lynch and Jax were involved in a brutal brawl on the December 18th episode of Monday Night RAW. Jax was released by the WWE in 2021 due to budget cuts and she made her return to the Monday Night RAW in September and feuded with Raquel Rodriguez and the WWE Womens Champion, Rhea Ripley.
Lynch called out Jax on the next RAW episode after her return and challenged a match to finish the story that started in 2018, when Smackdown invaded RAW for the Survivor Series match. During the invasion, Jax hit Lynch on head, that caused her to miss the title match against Ronda Rousey
This rival has now become personal, and WWE is planning to continue this feud until the Royal Rumble 2024 and end it with a final showdown between these two dominating forces of WWE.
