While SummerSlam indeed proved to be the Biggest Party of the Summer this year, fans were upset to see lesser women’s matches on the event, particularly the exclusion of Becky Lynch vs Trish Stratus at the event. WWE CCO Triple H addressed the matter in a press conference, where he seemed to subtly take a subtle dig at Becky Lynch. The Man on the other hand, has been firing back some subtle shots at The Game’s response as well.
Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus’ rivalry has been ongoing for some months now, and fans were hoping to see the end of their big feud at SummerSlam this year, which arguably would’ve been the best place to end it. Thus, the exclusion of their bout at The Biggest Party of the Summer left a number of fans disappointed.
Becky Lynch sports new tee referring to HHH comments
In a post-SummerSlam press conference, when asked as to why there were some superstars left off the show, Triple H seemingly referenced Becky Lynch and said that although some superstars who were left off the card may not be happy with the decision, they just have to take lemons and make lemonade with it.

While this doesn’t come off as a serious dig at anyone in particular, Becky Lynch responded to The Game’s response with a picture of herself with a few lemons and said that she has been making lemonade with the lemons that she has been given, and asked what everyone else was up to on that weekend. This was definitely Becky firing subtle shots back at Triple H. While there doesn’t seem to be any particular tension between the two, it’s probably a funny little gag between them.

On Monday Night RAW, The Man took the ‘lemonade’ joke with Triple H a bit further, as she wore a T-shirt with a lemon on it. She also uploaded a pic of her wearing the T-shirt on X(Twitter), with the caption, “Never Bitter. Never Better.” It’s also worth noting that she also literally came out with lemonade while being on commentary. It seems that this is nothing more than a running joke between Becky Lynch and Triple H.
Lynch’s rivalry with Trish Stratus rolls on
While Becky Lynch didn’t get her match with Hall of Famer Trish Stratus at SummerSlam last weekend, she did get the opportunity to face her in a singles bout, the match ended in a pretty disappointing fashion.

As the match between the two started, the two women wasted no time and went at each other immediately. The bad blood between them seemed real as they took their fight outside the ring. Eventually, they were counted out and the match ended in a double DQ. Even that wasn’t enough to separate them, so Zoey Stark came out and helped Stratus beat down Lynch. Afterwards, official Adam Pearce wasn’t happy about the outcome of the match and berated Stratus and Stark, who always came to the Hall of Famer’s help. He then announced that Becky Lynch’s next match with Trish Stratus would be in a steel cage, where there will be no interreference from Stark.
While the date for their steel cage match hasn’t been announced as of yet, it’s speculated that the rivalry between Lynch and Stratus would come to an end at Payback next month. With Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar absent from the event, WWE would need some big names for the match card. And the ending of the long feud between Stratus and Lynch at the event is bound to sell a lot of tickets. Stay tuned for further updates on their match.
