Bengals injury woes continue as WR Tee Higgins reportedly ruled out to play against Texans

The Cincinnati Bengals, led by the potential MVP candidate Joe Burrow and destructive wide receivers like Tee Higgins and Ja’Marr Chase, are heading strongly towards the 2023 NFL season. The team started the season with their franchise quarterback’s injury and a poor losing streak.

However, the Bengals bounced back like ever before, and with the recent win against the Buffalo Bills, they picked up four consecutive victories. With a 5-3 mark, the team is going to face off against the Houston Texans in their Week 10 matchup. Meanwhile, the injury in their receiver room might be a headache for them ahead of the contest.

Tee Higgins injury update

After sustaining a hamstring injury, Tee Higgins was a limited participant in the Bengals’ Wednesday’s practice with the team. The Bengals head coach Zac Taylor confirmed the footballer sustained the injury in practice. Taylor also disclosed the receiver alongside Sam Hubbard were both ruled out for the upcoming match against the Texans.

The WR earlier sustained a rib fracture in the first half of Cincy’s contest against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. Now, as he is ruled out for Week 10, rookie receiver Andrei Iosivas will fill the void. Besides his move, the team elevated two receivers Shedrick Jackson and Stanley Morgan from the practice squad to their active roster for the upcoming game.

Details on Ja’Marr Chase injury

After sitting out on Wednesday’s practice, Chase was a limited participant on Thursday and Friday’s session. He has been listed as “questionable” to play on the Bengals’ official injury report, albeit the Jeremy Fowler of ESPN said the team is “hopeful” that he would play in the contest against the Texans.

According to the NFL insider Dov Kleiman, he will have a workout today morning to help the team decide upon his availability.

Talking about his availability following Thursday’s practice, the receiver said, “In my head, I’m playing. Until further notice and anything else, we’ll see,” via CBS Sports.

During Cincy’s 24-18 victory over the Buffalo Bills in Week 9, Chase sustained a back injury after being shaken up following landing on his back while trying to make a catch. Though the vet was able to resume play in the contest, he said he was “pretty sore just moving around” and that the injury got only worse as the game continued.
