It’s really not pleasant to see how teams like Borussia Dortmund can get bullied into selling their best players to Bayern Munich or any other European team with enough money to tempt their talents away. However, It’s just how football works, and the big teams are always cherry-picking the smaller ones’ best players.

Mats Hummels also moved to rival Bayern Munich while at peak shape before returning to North Rhine-Westphalia after being frozen out by Bayern.

Borussia Dortmund in talks with Marcel Sabitzer
Manchester United made a loan move for Marcel Sabitzer in January, and while it might have worked out, the Austrian’s injury history made them decide against making the loan move permanent. United have since strengthened their squad with Mason Mount and Andre Onana so far this summer, and Sabitzer may also be on his way out of Bayern to join Borussia Dortmund.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Borussia Dortmund are close to an agreement with Bayern Munich to sign Marcel Sabitzer in a €19 million deal after losing Jude Bellingham to Real Madrid earlier this summer. The Austrian could be a great fit for the German club if any move materialized. He scored five goals in the second half in the 27-0 thrashing of FC Rottach-Egern in the club’s pre-season friendly.

The Austrian is a rather consistent goalscorer. He scored three goals and made one assist for Manchester United last season from a midfield position. The former RB Leipzig player seems to have an eye for goals and may be the key player Borussia Dortmund needs to challenge for the title next season if he manages to stay clear of injuries.
Can Borussia Dortmund successfully find Jude Bellingham’s replacement?
Finding the perfect replacement for an outgoing player is always hard for any team. Chelsea hasn’t really been able to replace Eden Hazard after being sold to Real Madrid. Borussia Dortmund reinvested the money made from the sale of Haaland in Sebastien Haller. Still, the former Ajax man hasn’t found his feet yet in Germany, although much of the disappointment can be blamed on his cancer scare last year.
Dortmund will probably hope to find Jude Bellingham’s replacement in Marcel Sabitzer. The midfielder is one of the best in his position on his best days, and if the team’s medical department manages to find a way to keep him off the treatment table, Dortmund may have a player that could help them challenge on all fronts again.
