Things have not looked very jolly around the WWE Universe following the back-to-back deaths of Terry Funk and Bray Wyatt. Several superstars have paid tribute to Bray in the latest episode of SmackDown. However, his last in-ring opponent LA Knight paid his tribute in a rather peculiar way.
He started his tribute in a heartfelt way, but before ending his speech Knight took a slight dig at Miz using one of late Wyatt’s phrases.
LA Knight calls out The Miz using Bray Wyatt’s word
On the latest episode of SmackDown, WWE announced LA Knight will face The Miz at WWE Payback. The two stars started their feud after The A-Lister was mad at The Megastar for not shaking his hand backstage after he appeared on Monday Night RAW. Knight then confronted The Miz, and things got physical.
Last week on SmackDown, Miz was at ringside for LA Knight’s match against former United States champion Austin Theory. The winner of the match was set to challenge Rey Mysterio for the United States Championship.

Recently on SmackDown, a video aired on the big screen of Miz talking about LA Knight during an interview with TMZ. Later, Knight came to the ring and got big chants from the crowd. He started off his speech by paying tribute to the late WWE superstar Bray Wyatt. He then challenged The Miz to a match and quoted a phrase from Wyatt’s book while taunting The Miz.
He said: “Miz, a wise man once told me. When you see me… RUN.”, and it was later confirmed by WWE Creative that they would face each other in a singles match at the Payback PLE.
LA Knight was Bray Wyatt’s final opponent on WWE
Bray Wyatt returned to WWE in October last year at Extreme Rules. Having made a flashy return, he immediately got into a rivalry with LA Knight who was arguably the top face of the company among the rising stars. Bray Wyatt and LA Knight feud lasted for almost four months and it culminated in a match at one of WWE’s biggest PPVs, Royal Rumble in January this year.
The two superstars had a special match called the ‘Pitch Black’, which was appreciated by many as a unique experience and was also one of the trademarks of Wyatt’s WWE career as he has provided some of the strangest matches to WWE fans.
