Buffaloes HC Deion Sanders handpicks NFL destinations for Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter

Deion Sanders made waves last year by bringing his son, Shedeur Sanders, to play quarterback for the Colorado Buffaloes, where he’s teamed up with standout receiver Travis Hunter. Now, Coach Prime is looking ahead, expressing his willingness to allow these two talented athletes to join select NFL teams.

The Buffaloes head coach has singled out several NFL teams where he believes Shedeur and Hunter would thrive, including the Philadelphia Eagles, San Francisco 49ers, Dallas Cowboys, Washington Commanders, Baltimore Ravens, and Atlanta Falcons.

This endorsement comes as no surprise, given Coach Prime’s unwavering belief in the potential of both young athletes to excel at the professional level.

While urging Shedeur to opt out of the NFL draft, choosing not to take a backseat to USC star Caleb Williams, Coach Prime hinted at the possibility of Shedeur and Hunter exercising their agency in team selection.

He suggests that his son and Hunter may follow a similar path to ensure the best fit for their careers, drawing comparisons to Eli Manning’s draft day maneuver.

Meanwhile, the former NFL player turned head coach has never shied away from sharing his opinions on various aspects of football. Whether sharing the Buffaloes’ recruiting system or discussing the implications of the NIL program for college stars, he has consistently voiced his views, garnering attention from football fans.

Deion Sanders prioritizes player excellence over NIL deals for Buffaloes

Deion Sanders has made it clear that he prioritizes player commitment to excellence over the pursuit of lucrative name, image, and likeness (NIL) deals. Speaking on Front Office Sports Today, the 56-year-old coach emphasized the importance of attracting players who are driven by a desire to be great on the field, rather than those solely focused on financial gain.

“I don’t attract that type of player. I attract the type of player that wants to be great, that understands he has a window of opportunity and he has to have a commitment to excellence,” he said.

His approach reflects his belief in the value of dedication and hard work in achieving success in football. Nevertheless, this approach has drawn attention to the players he has entrusted with his full support.

Shedeur Sanders holds the highest NIL valuation of any collegiate athlete, valued at $4.7 million, according to On3’s NIL valuation tool. Additionally, Travis Hunter ranks fifth on the list, with an NIL valuation of $2.4 million, as per Bleacher Report.
