Chicago Bulls star Zach LaVine has been in the headlines for some time due to rumors surrounding a possible trade. Alongside LaVine, other Bulls stars DeMar DeRozan and Alex Caruso are also rumored to be potential trade targets. The Bulls did not have a great start to the season and may potentially be sellers, rather than buyers, before the 2023 trade deadline.
While LaVine has clearly expressed the teams he doesn’t want to be traded to, the shooting guard has some aspirations regarding joining a particular team. However, the rumored demands that the Bulls have made could potentially hinder LaVine’s aspirations.
Reported Bulls demand in Zach LaVine trade
Chicago Bulls have demanded a trade for Zach Lavine and are open to offers for the talented guard. The rumors have revealed that the Philadelphia 76ers, Miami Heat, and the Los Angeles Lakers have shown interest in the trade offer but no official confirmation has been made.
There is another rumor that has spiked the interest of people in the whole trade drama. The Bulls reportedly had a talk with the Lakers officials and have presented their demands for a possible trade. However, the demand by the Bulls surely looks greedy and can possibly force the Lakers to back out from the negotiations.
According to Amico Hoops the Bulls reportedly have asked for Rui Hachimura and the rising young star Austin Reaves in exchange for Zach LaVine. Zach is very talented at his job but surely does not carry the value to be exchanged for two young talents of elite level.
Zach LaVine’s preferred landing spots
Zach LaVine has also dropped a few hints about the places he would want to go and also the places he would absolutely want to avoid. According to the New York Post’s Stefan Bondy, LaVine has zero interest in the Knicks and would do anything to avoid joining Leon Rose’s squad.
As for his preferred destinations, LaVine has no problem with the Philadelphia 76ers or the Miami Heat and maintains a neutral stance on those teams. However, he aspires to join LeBron James at the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers could also benefit a lot from LaVine’s talents.
However, it looks like the demands of the Chicago Bulls are too far-fetched and overvalue Zach compared to his true worth. As for the reason why the Bulls might be trading their star player instead of re-signing him, it would be safe to assume that they are going through a rebuilding phase.
