Drew McIntyre continued his mean streak on the mic on the latest episode of WWE RAW. After putting the soccer legend, Wayne Rooney on the blast during WWE’s UK tour, McIntyre targeted his long-time buddy Sheamus.
During a segment on WWE RAW, McIntyre came down to the ring and sat on the mat mimicking CM Punk. He went on to complain about how the Chicago-born wrestler cost him his moment at WrestleMania 40 and teased to enter the King Of The Ring tournament. Just then, Sheamus interrupted him to put some sense into Drew, but the “Scottish Psychopath” went unhinged by saying, “Since you’ve returned, it looks to me like it’s been burger after burger after burger.”
A loud gasp from the crowd filled the air as McIntyre continued talking about Sheamus. He reminded the “Celtic Warrior” that he is his only friend in the locker room and the other guys in the back talk about Sheamus’ physique. McIntyre recently revealed that he is working through injury, hence did not have a match on Monday night but he proceeded to stay at the ringside to see Sheamus pick up a hard-fought win over Shinsuke Nakamura.
After Sheamus returned last week on RAW, WWE fans pointed out how staying away from action affected the Irish’s physical shape. The former WWE champion revealed it was due to an early call-up from the company that prompted him to return to action. Since then, Drew McIntyre’s “burger after burger” comment went viral on social media and Sheamus broke his silence over it.’
Sheamus breaks silence over Drew McIntyre comment
The 46-year-old took to social media and wrote, “Burger after Burger after Burger after Burger,” numerous times, just like his “Banger after Banger” catchphrase. Former WWE superstar Hurricane AKA Gregory Shane Helms, who currently works as a producer backstage, also joined in on the fun and posted a picture with a burger.
With CM Punk out of the picture at the moment with his injury, this might be WWE’s way to create a feud between the two best friends with WWE Backlash around the corner. A meeting in the King Of The Ring tournament cannot be ruled out as well, but it is for sure that Drew McIntyre will not be ditching his menacing persona anytime soon.
