Caleb Williams claiming to be physically on par with Patrick Mahomes sparks outrage: “Will see big mouth”

After an illustrious tenure at USC, Caleb Williams has made it clear that he intends to make his mark in the NFL. His name has remained prominent in the media, with speculation swirling about his potential landing spot in the upcoming NFL draft, particularly with the Chicago Bears.

Nevertheless, NFL fans seemingly are yet to embrace him from their cores, especially following his most recent claim regarding the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl-winning quarterback, Patrick Mahomes.

Caleb Williams shares candid thoughts on competition with Patrick Mahomes

Caleb Williams recently made an appearance on “The Herd” with Colin Cowherd, where he discussed his comparisons to NFL superstar Patrick Mahomes. During the conversation, Williams expressed confidence in his abilities, suggesting that he possesses similar physical talents to Mahomes.

“There’s things that he does, physically — obviously, I’m not Patrick Mahomes and I’m not in his brain — but things that he does physically that I don’t think that I can’t do,” he said, per Fox Sports.

During his appearance on Colin Cowherd’s show, he reiterated his openness to embracing the Bears’ fanbase and expressed his desire to play in the city of Chicago despite warnings from Deion Sanders cautioning against the move.

Should the Chicago Bears indeed select him as the No. 1 overall pick, Williams would assume the role of immediate starter for the team. This opportunity arises following the team’s decision to trade Justin Fields to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Fans in splits following Caleb Williams’s remarks

Caleb Williams, the highly touted quarterback prospect, has been making waves with his bold statements even before stepping foot into the NFL. From his unconventional approach to entering the draft without an agent to his audacious demand for a share of team ownership, Williams has drawn criticism for his actions.

Nevertheless, his latest proclamation has stirred up controversy once again. While Patrick Mahomes, with his impressive resume boasting three Super Bowl victories, remains humble about his achievements, Williams boldly compared himself to the Kansas City Chiefs’ star quarterback.

Fans were quick to react to Williams’ claims, with one comment expressing skepticism. Among them, one fan directly challenged him to prove his worthiness of winning one Super Bowl at first before comparing his legacy with a three-time Suler Bowl winner.

“He better win a Super Bowl year 1 the way he’s talking,” one fan wrote in the comment.

Another fan chimed in, suggesting that Williams’ bold proclamation will ultimately be put to the test once he steps onto the field in the NFL.

“We will see, big mouth,” one comment read.
