Jarrod Bowen’s talents have never been doubted. The 27-year-old joined West Ham in 2020 from Hull City and hasn’t looked back since. He has been an integral part of David Moyes’ setup, and even last season, when the club struggled to keep up in the league, Bowen was a constant threat to opposing teams.
Boweb’s consistency earned him interest from Liverpool, but a transfer failed due to some reasons. With both teams clashing in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup yesterday, Jurgen Klopp named Jarrod Bowen his favorite player, as Liverpool are tipped to return with a bid for the West Ham man in the January transfer window.
Can Jarrod Bowen play for Liverpool in future?
Jarrod Bowen has been one of West Ham’s most consistent players since joining from Hull City in 2020. His consistency hasn’t gone unnoticed, as some of the biggest clubs in the country are looking to sign him, including Liverpool and Newcastle United.
Sources close to Liverpool revealed a few months ago that the club made a move for Bowen in the summer, only for West Ham to refuse to let him go, which would be understandable. The Hammers are in a much-improved position compared to last season, with West Ham lying in 8th place in the league, ahead of Brighton and Chelsea, two clubs who have considerably spent more money in the transfer market than the Hammers.
Bowen has scored 10 goals in the Premier League this season, with only Erling Haaland and Mohamed Salah having scored more. His performances this season have reopened reports of a potential move to Liverpool, which can’t be ruled out, considering how he’s admittedly Klopp’s favorite player outside of his own team.
With Mo Salah looking likely to leave for Saudi Arabia next summer, a move for Jarrod Bowen won’t be out of the cards for Liverpool.
Jurgen Klopp reveals Jarrod Bowen one of his favorites
Liverpool hosted West Ham United in the EFL Cup quarterfinals yesterday, with the Hammers having dumped out Arsenal in the previous round. Although Liverpool ran riot in the 5-1 thrashing of the London club, Jurgen Klopp had admitted in his pre-match interview that Jarrod Bowen was his favorite player outside of Liverpool.
“In quarter-finals, everybody can smell the chance to go through,” the Liverpool manager said. “In a very busy period, finding a line-up which can go and go and go because West Ham is a very physically strong team. They’re good in Europe, which is really impressive. Bowen is probably my favorite player besides all my players, I have to say. It’s great what he is doing and how he has developed,” Klopp added.
Goals from Szoboszlai, Curtin Jones, Cody Gakpo, and Mo Salah helped Liverpool to a 5-1 win. Despite the rout, Jarrod Bowen still had the chance to impress Klopp, as he scored West Ham’s only goal of the game and a wonder goal at that!
