Can Max Verstappen surpass his own point record as he approaches his third Formula One championship title?

Max Verstappen has been outstanding in recent years, winning back-to-back World Championships in 2021 and 2022. The Dutchman started his career at a very young age and, since then, has continued to surpass expectations even more in each race.

Although Max went through a momentary relapse in the Singapore GP, the Dutch racer, being as skilled as he is, has shown his incantation in the world of Formula One once again. By winning the Japanese GP, “Mad Max” has boosted his chances of grasping his third consecutive championship.

Can Max Verstappen surpass his own F1 point record in a season?

Mathematically speaking, Verstappen can surpass his own F1 point record this season easily and take the title as early as the Sprint race in Qatar on Saturday, which would make him the first driver to win a championship before a Grand Prix has begun in 35 years

Max’s highest point record was in 2022, where he scored 454 points. He is already on 400 points this year after he won the Japanese GP; he just need 55 points to break his previous record. There is a maximum of 180 points still on offer in the last six races, which includes 156 during the Grands Prix and 24 from the remaining Sprint races

The world can already see Max Verstappen surpassing his record and being crowned with the third Driver’ title at the Qatar Grand Prix, regardless of the worst possible outcome. So far, the driver has dominated the season with 13 wins to his name out of 16 races.

Leading ahead of the all the drivers, the two-time World Champion, this time has more chances of exceeding his own limits this time and scoring more than his previous record in the season.

Max Verstappen closes in on his third Formula One championship title

It is decided by all the permutations that Verstappen will be the rightful owner of the third title of Championship.

Verstappen’s massive tally of wins, plus the efforts of teammate Sergio Perez, means Red Bull Racing has already won the 2023 Constructors’ title. Red Bull claimed the award at the Japanese Grand Prix, in which Verstappen started in the pole position and won.

Perez has not managed to dominate the rest of the Red Bull like the Dutch Driver. He has been involved in many mishaps, with a very poor performance and somehow has managed to hold onto the second spot in the rankings.

This clarifies that the one-man army has managed to seal the third title all by himself, although Perez did win two races early on but those were soon dominated by Verstappen, who won the qualifying in the Japanese GP.

Do you think Perez will be able to catch up with his teammate soon? Do let us know in the comment section below!
