The future of Real Madrid appears to be bright, with a squad filled with young and talented superstars. This team is hopeful to improve further in the future, and manager Carlo Ancelotti is eager to harness their full potential.
Anticipating significant changes next season, including the arrival of Kylian Mbappe, the team must also prepare for necessary departures to balance the squad. Ancelotti addressed various rumors about the squad for the upcoming season during a recent press conference.
Carlo Ancelotti explains Luka Modric Real Madrid future
Manager Carlo Ancelotti was asked about the future of Luka Modric at the club. The veteran has been a loyal servant to the club for 12 years, within the span of which he has won everything for the club. He is considered as one of their best players in the last decade. However, his contract expires this summer, and his exit is very possible.
Ancelotti answered the question smartly and didn’t confirm anything, saying, “Luka Modric to leave? His focus in on this season, we will see the decisions at the end of the current season. I’ve no specific feeling to share on Modric or Kroos, I see them ready for the final two months.”

Modric had signed a one year contract extension last summer, but things have not gone well for him. He has played very limited minutes this season, and has not started many matches. The influx of new midfielders like Jude Bellingham has caused this effect, and Modric is said to be unhappy at his playing time. He had previously voiced his unhappiness with the matter as well.
Modric has already been linked to join either the MLS or his boyhood club Dynamo Zagreb after his contract ends this summer. Modric’s departure on a free transfer is all but confirmed, as it looks like a new contract isn’t on the table. His teammate Toni Kroos on the other hand is set to receive a contract extension.
Carlo Ancelotti’s unique answer to Kylian Mbappe transfer
The other transfer associated with the club is that of Kylian Mbappe. Carlo Ancelotti was asked if fans can be excited about the imminent arrival of the Frenchman at the club. However, he responded that fans will always be excited about the club, irrespective of any player. He stated, “Real fans are always excited for the shirt. The Real Madrid shirt brings happiness and excitement to the fans; it’s not about individual players.”

While Ancelotti is not worried about the potential arrival of Mbappe to the club, it is a very real possibility. Most reports suggest the deal is already done, with the star already confirmed to be leaving Paris Saint Germain on a free transfer this summer. The player himself has clarified that his future will be revealed to the public before the upcoming Euro tournament.
Carlo Ancelotti will now focus on Real Madrid’s next game against Athletic Club on Monday, and hope for a good win.
