Carlos Sainz is the sole race winner except Sergio Perez and Max Verstappen this year. The same can’t be said for Leclerc however, who implies he needs divine guidance to cure his bad luck in 2023.
Sainz and Leclerc’s Vegas Plans unveiled
Formula 1 often releases driver snippets ahead of a race to engage public and increase viewers before the much anticipated weekend. As such, they have released a new video of Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc interviewing each other about Las Vegas. Among the Ferrari duo, only Leclerc has been to Vegas before, with Daniel Ricciardo and they, “partied like crazy.”
Charles then clarified that this time around they’d have to be more serious as it’s going to be all about racing rather than Saturday night. But he stays hopeful that in case of a Ferrari 1-2, they will definitely party the night away.
Carlos Sainz immediately got curious about this and started asking Charles for more info going “when..where..” Later on, he added his own suggestion, “I think maybe we should go probably gambling also, try our luck….If we manage to win, see if we can make it even better.” Charles even wanted to organize Poker with all the drivers, citing an example from the Australian GP.
Max Verstappen’s amusing gesture to Carlos Sainz for a grid swap
Max Verstappen is known for his playful challenges and gestures towards fellow drivers. He is someone who enjoys a good life and a competitive race equally. Earlier, he joked about letting the drivers use his RB19 to test out the track limits of COTA, but this time around he has a new proposal.
As Ferrari locked out the front row for the Mexico GP, although according to Charles Leclerc, Max Verstappen will try to take the advantage of slipstream right from the start. Carlos Sainz put forth his own troubles, worried that starting on the dirty side of the grid means he will be fighting Max Verstappen right from the start.
Max Verstappen cheekily replied to Sainz saying, “You want to swap?” Carlos even agreed with the idea and explained his opinion on the matter, “You know, I’m considering it! But yeah, I think it will be a fun start, a fun run down to Turn One. I think Max will be on the attack. We will all be trying to get slipstream, so it’s always a good run down to Turn 1 here.”
Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc had a lackluster 2023 season, and they will be looking forward to changing the situation and fight for the championship in 2024. Where do you think Ferrari went wrong this year after a strong 2022 season?
