“Carrying the UK” : Boxing fans react to KSI being second on Forbes Top Creators of 2023 surpassing Jake Paul

Olajide Olayinka Williams “JJ” Olatunji, popularly known as KSI, is one of the biggest crossover boxing stars. His accomplishments as an influencer boxer are second only to the younger Paul brother, Jake. In the boxing ring, Olatunji recently fought Tommy Fury, the younger brother of WBC champion Tyson Fury.

Olatunji’s most recent stint in boxing was a live-streamed sparring session with fellow YouTuber IShowSpeed. The sparring session was live-streamed at the same time as Jake Paul’s anticipated boxing fight with Andre August; a fight Paul won by 1st round KO.

KSI surpasses Jake Paul on Forbes Top Creators of 2023

Forbes recently released their list of the top 50 influencers with close to 3 billion followers and accumulated close to three-quarter billion dollars in revenues in 2023. It needs to be noted that the revenue of the influencers was just close to $600 million in 2023.

Jimmy Donaldson, popularly known as Mr Beast tops the list with 300 million followers and a staggering $82 million in revenue. KSI bagged the second spot with 112 million followers and $24 million in revenue. The Paul brothers, Jake and Logan, are ranked 3rd and 6th respectively. Jake Paul, at third, has 66 million followers with $32 million in revenue.

Logan, Paul, on the other hand, has 74 million followers and made $21 million in revenue. Rhett James McLaughlin and Charles Lincoln “Link” Neal III, popularly known as Rhett and Link came fourth with Charli D’Amelio as the only women in the top 5 of the list. Elliot Tebele, Emma Chamberlain, Matt Rife, and Brent Rivera occupied the spots from 7 to 10.

KSI and Jake are at loggerheads with each other even though his older brother is a business partner of the British content creator. The joint venture of KSI and Logan, Prime Hydration recently announced Patrick Mahomes as a Prime Athlete. Jake Paul, recently accused KSI of ducking him in boxing. Interestingly, both Paul brothers accused Tommy Fury of ducking Jake.

Boxing fans react to KSI surpassing Jake Paul on Forbes list

KSI beating Jake Paul to be ranked 2nd in the Forbes list behind only Mr Beast has boxing fans buzzing with excitement on X, formerly Twitter. Fans of both influencers shared their thoughts on the matter. “KSI carrying the UK,” commented one fan who was seconded by another fan who commented, “KSI is also the only british creator on the top 50 list 👀🔥”

“I can’t lie Jake shouldn’t be up there since all he has done is boxing, this is no hate. What has he done as a creator? If you disagree please tell me, happy to be proven wrong,” a fan commented stating that Jake Paul should not be on the list due to his income and followers garnered due to his stature as an athlete rather than a content creator.

“Jake dosent even care about YouTube anymore and is still number 3 😂,” commented a Jake Paul fan who praised Paul for having a good ranking in the list even though he seemed to have put the content creator realm in his backseat.

Nevertheless, the revenue generated by Jake Paul is higher than KSI. Paul fought Tommy Fury, Nate Diaz, and Andre August in 2023, accumulating a lot of wealth. KSI also boxed thrice in 2023, against FaZe Temperrr, Tommy Fury, and Joe Fournier. Both Paul and KSI lost to Fury in boxing in 2023.
