Chael Sonnen explains how Conor McGregor can beat Michael Chandler
There is already a war of words going on social media between the two explosive UFC fighters, as they are expected to get locked inside the cage on June 29th. The fight between Conor McGregor and Chael Sonnen has been in talks for more than a year now, but at the end of the year 2023, we finally got the actual date to watch the battle live.
Once McGregor was done with his announcement, ‘Iron’ instantly gave an intense warning to end the UFC star’s career. To address the same view, Chael Sonnen also came forward.
On his YouTube channel, Sonnen talked about how Conor McGregor can secure an easy victory against the former Bellator champion. According to Chael Sonnen, there is only one way ‘Notorious’ can secure the win at this stage of his career. It will be a first-round knockout only, according to the 46-year-old, who can actually do the job for McGregor. Otherwise, fans might see the downfall of their favorite UFC star.
Chael Sonnen said, “Conor has one way to beat Michael Chandler, which is knocking him out in the first round. It turns out that Conor’s good at knocking people out in the first round. But that is his only chance. If this sees the third round, we don’t even have a conversation. For sure, Chandler wins. Chandler could lose all 10 minutes to get to the third round, but if the third round begins, Chandler wins the fight.”
If McGregor fails to secure victory in 10 minutes of fighting, then Chandler does have the potential to pull out the victory from Conor, according to Chael Sonnen.
Sonnen wants McGregor vs. Chandler as soon as possible
The bout is yet to get an official announcement on papers as well. So, the suggestion from Chael Sonnen to Conor McGregor is to pressure UFC officials to make a 15-minute bout only as there are high chances he can secure even the decision victory over Michael Chandler, who is having 5 wins from decisions and 3 losses.
Sonnen advised McGregor on his YouTube channel, “It’s not too late because the bout agreement isn’t signed to make Conor and Chandler three rounds. Now you have a different conversation. You have a completely different line, you have a completely different book, and you have a completely different analysis. Now Conor can win. Now he can win a decision. He can bank eight minutes, lose seven, and win a decision.”
