Charles Oliveira, the former UFC lightweight champion, will get a second crack at the title if he is victorious against Arman Tsarukyan at UFC 300. With days remaining for the highly anticipated matchup, Oliveira had good news to reveal to his fans—one which is worth fighting for.
Oliveira is father to Tayla, his sole daughter during his relationship with his ex-wife, Talita Roberta Pereira, a Brazilian fitness instructor. Now, the UFC record holder for finishes is in a relationship with Vitoria Brum, and they are already expecting a newcomer.
Charles Oliveira reveals his partner expecting baby boy
Charles Oliveira revealed his new romantic relationship after the recent UFC Sao Paulo fight night event. Oliveira announced Vitoria Brum, his new partner, with an Instagram post captioned, ‘My Babe’.
Now, Oliveira revealed another important moment of his personal life. Oliveira and Brum are now expecting a baby boy. The former lightweight champion did the gender reveal spectacularly and shared it on Instagram. “Thank you Jesus for another great blessing in my life now a boy DOMINIC OLIVEIRA BRUM God is wonderful”, Oliveira captioned the post.
Oliveira is deeply devoted to his religion and his family. His love for his daughter and his parents is evidenced by the tattoos of their faces on his chest. The first face to be tattooed was that of his daughter, followed by his parents.
Moreover, even though he is divorced from his first wife, he still co-parents their daughter with her. Furthermore, he has also said on numerous occasions that his daughter is the reason why he is fighting in MMA.
Oliveira made his UFC debut at featherweight and was a .500 fighter. However, soon after the birth of his daughter, he moved up to lightweight and became one of the best fighters ever in the division.
Charles Oliveira talks about Arman Tsarukyan fight
Preluding his number-one contender lightweight fight against Arman Tsarukyan, Charles Oliveira was interviewed by MMAmania. In the interview, Oliveira explained why he took the fight with the Armenian fighter.
“I’m employed by Zuffa so I need to accept what they bring to me”, said Oliveira. “If I was to wait for the title I would [have] fought only in the end of the year, and I don’t like to wait too much to fight. I would be like waiting for one year almost”, the Brazilian further added.
Oliveira’s last fight was against Beneil Dariush at UFC 289, which he won via first-round TKO. He was supposed to fight Islam Makhachev for the lightweight title at UFC 294 but a gnarly cut pulled him out of the fight and he was replaced by Alexander Volkanovski.
Incidentally, Tsarukyan’s last fight was also against Dariush. Like Oliveira, he knocked out Dariush in the first round. After the victory, Tsarukyan called out Islam Makhachev and vowed to knock him out.
Tsarukyan has vowed to finish Oliveira in the first round, just as Makhachev did in the second round. He had also claimed to be better than Oliveira, as he knocked out Dariush faster than the Brazilian.
