Charlotte Flair has suffered a serious knee injury during a match with Asuka on a Smackdown episode last month. The injury occurred when she fell from the top rope and twisted her leg. WWE announced Flair will be out of action for almost nine months.
The injury was severe as she tore her ACL, MCL, and meniscus during the match. Even in absence, Flair was frequently addressing the fans about her injury. Today, Flair has shared an emotional message on social media to the WWE Universe.
Charlotte Flair pens emotional message after knee surgery
Today, after a successful knee surgery, Charlotte Flair posted a photo from hospital on social media. Flair wrote a emotional message saying, “THANK YOU for all the positive, beautiful messages & flowers. I feel supported in every way. It has taken me a few days and many MANY tears to wrap my head around everything.”
Flair thanked the entire Smackdown locker room and said this year was the best year in her entire career. Flair was a heel in her entire career, but this year she dominated the Smackdown roster as a babyface and won the Survivor Series War Games match against the Damage CTRL.
Flair added, “I happen to be an expert in overthinking and this is the first time I’ve ever been truly scared. I learned so much as a performer and plan on starting right where I left off. I promise I am going to work 24/7 over the next nine months to come back the best version of the Queen you’ve ever seen.”
Flair’s absence will affect the ongoing storyline with Damage CTRL and also fans will miss her in the grandest stage of all, WrestleMania 40. Flair has recently signed a multi year contract in WWE and she is set to comeback stronger than ever.
WWE, AEW stars unite to encourage Charlotte Flair on the road to recovery
Charlotte Flair has received a lot of support and encouragement from her fellow wrestlers in both WWE and AEW, after undergoing knee surgery. The two time WWE world Champion Natalya added, “Beautifully written. Thinking of you, Ash. Everything will be ok, if not better than ever.”
WWE RAW commentator Samantha Irvin added her support saying, “Love You !!!!!” R Truth who recently made his return to WWE and feuding with Judgement Day added, “Congratulations.” Former WWE Commentator Renee Paquette said, “Love You My Girl.” Paquette is currently signed to AEW with her husband Dean Ambrose.
Flair’s long term rival, Asuka shared her message in Japanese saying, “I love You”. Former WWE superstar Naomi expressed a thankful note with, “You’re one of the thoughtest women I know, you got this queen.” Naomi is currently signed with Impact Wrestling and rumored to return back to WWE.
Flair’s injury is a huge loss for the WWE women’s division and the entire WWE universe wishes Flair a speedy recovery and waits to reclaim her throne as the “The Queen” of WWE.
