Chiefs Kingdom embraces Taylor Swift’s dad as Travis Kelce’s hockey past resurfaces

Following a Lombardi Trophy-winning season, the Kansas City Chiefs are in the run of enjoying another successive era of Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce. While on the field, Mahomes has kept his fans’ eyes busy with his record-breaking stint, off the field, his tight end has already stolen the show by etching his name beside Taylor Swift.

The pop star’s father is the next person the Chiefs star wants to win over, as he can already declare his success in chasing her heart. Kelce continues to enjoy success, recently gaining attention for expressing his interest in playing hockey.

Travis Kelce’s youth hockey tweet sparks comeback talks

Travis Kelce and his brother Jason, now a center for the Philadelphia Eagles, both played youth hockey before setting off their football careers. Back in 2014, the Chiefs tight end conveyed his desire to play hockey again, as he missed the time he spent on the hockey field.

“I really love Hockey… I haven’t stepped on the ice since I quit after playing 8 years… But that’s got to change! I miss it too much,” he wrote on X.

Surprisingly, some hockey fans recently unearthed the tweet.  Seeing the post, Bauer Hockey could not resist themselves to offer the two-time Super Bowl winner an opportunity to play his dream play again. They promised to acquire him the equipment he would need to suit up again in response to his post on the old X thread.

In his eight years as a player, Kelce demonstrated a great deal of prowess on the ice and made his presence back to the arena to support the St. Louis Blues during their Stanley Cup season in 2019. He made sure to celebrate the victory by turning the Vince Lombardi Trophy into a beer luge and drinking out of the Cup when he had the opportunity to win the Lombardi Trophy of the last season, per RMNB.

Sitting at the top of the AFC West with a 7-2 record, the Chiefs are not running short of fans. Yet, the inclusion of one fan was urgent, and it was none but the father of the pop star. Mr. Swift is from Philadelphia; hence, he has historically rooted for the Eagles.

Even though the KC team has already got Taylor Swift on board as a fan, thanks to superstar Kelce, it seems like they’re now set on making Taylor’s dad, Scott Swift, switch his allegiance from the Eagles to the Chiefs. In a recent video from Taylor’s concert in Argentina, her dad was spotted rocking a Chiefs lanyard, and the pop star even dropped Kelce’s name during the show.

The dating rumor was fueled once more by Mr. Swift’s appearance when he was spotted talking with his daughter’s rumored boyfriend. The Kansas City team’s X account remained quick to claim the pop star’s father as a Cheifs fan.

The Kansas City Chiefs vs. Philadelphia Eagles clash is set to be held at Arrowhead Stadium on November 20. On the day, the pop star and tight end duo’s relationship may get another definition as the two families will have their first official meetup.
