Everyone in the league knows Mahomes by a single title, and he has already surpassed a large number of the league’s top quarterbacks in terms of prominence. Nevertheless, Pat believes Cousins is not getting the accolades he deserves despite being an excellent leader for the Minnesota Vikings.

Unanimously, the two-time MVP who has also won the Lombardi Trophy twice in the past four years, has crowned him the league’s king. The Chief’s idol believes that his squad and fans have accorded him the utmost respect and status.
Who may, in contrast, hold the top spot in his opinion while discussing the quarterback who is most underappreciated in the league? The 27-year-old responded to the query in a recent interview at the “Quarterback” docuseries launch on Netflix.
Pointing at Kirk, Pat boldly threw his reply “I think this guy right here”. Recent “Clutch QB rankings” placed the Vikings star as the third-most clutch quarterback in the league, and his importance to his club is almost unfathomable.

Furthermore, like the Chiefs’ reigning star, Mariota also expressed the same thoughts regarding the league’s most underrated quarterback.
“I’d agree with that. I’ve been in a few systems and [with] a few coaches. A lot of the tape that we’d watch was of Kirk. A guy consistently, year in and year out, continues to prove why he is one of the top quarterbacks in the league.”
Kirk entering the final year of the $84 million Vikings deal
Cousins has been on the Vikings roster since 2018, after agreeing to a fully guaranteed $84 million deal which was the first fully guaranteed contract in NFL history. He signed a two-year, $66 million extension in 2020 after becoming known as the NFL player with the highest salary.
A one-year contract extension was given to the experienced player by the Minnesota team in the offseason as that agreement was about to expire. The $35 million extension paid $35 million.
However, it is scheduled to expire following the 2023 campaign. The 34-year-old previously expressed his intention to play his entire career for the team. The GM Adofo-Mensah did not promise a long-term future with him after the 2023 NFL draft.
“This is an important position, so obviously you emphasize that one when you can. We like where we are at the quarterback position. But every option is open to us,” the general manager said.
Under Captain Kirk, the Vikings have a regular-season record of 46-33-1. As a result, like their veteran quarterback, Vikings supporters are predicting that the team’s management office may negotiate a contract restructuring arrangement.
