Chiefs vs 49ers Injury report: Which NFL stars missed practice ahead of Super Bowl LVIII?

Following a regular season that left much to be desired, the Kansas City Chiefs found renewed vigor in the playoffs. With their eyes set on joining the exclusive ranks of teams with back-to-back Super Bowl victories, the Chiefs are poised for a historic feat.

Now, their focus shifts to the ultimate showdown against the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl LVIII. As both teams have descended upon Las Vegas for the final battle, the anticipation builds to see which players may potentially miss this nail-biting game.

Chiefs’ injury report

The Chiefs have published their Wednesday injury report including nine players’ names in their injury list ahead of the Super Bowl. Among them, only guard Joe Thuney did not participate in Wednesday’s practice and his status for the rest of the week remains uncertain.

In the Chiefs’ win against the Buffalo Bills in the divisional round, the experienced guard sustained an injury to his chest. Although it appears he dodged a severe setback, he has been absent from practices due to what the team is categorizing as a pectoral problem.

Running back Isiah Pacheco practiced in full despite dealing with a toe ankle issue. Wide receivers Richie James, Skyy Moore, and Rashee Rice all participated fully in practice despite their respective foot, knee, and ankle injuries.

Defensive tackle Chris Jones also practiced fully despite a quad injury. Additionally, cornerback L’Jarius Sneed was a full participant despite dealing with a calf injury. However, running back Jerick McKinnon was limited in practice due to a groin injury.

McKinnon returned to active status from the Chiefs’ injured reserve list after being sidelined for the entire postseason and multiple regular-season matchups due to the injury. With McKinnon’s practice window now available, there’s a possibility he could participate in Super Bowl LVIII.

Offensive lineman Prince Tega Wanogho, who is dealing with a quad injury, was a full participant but remains on the injured reserve list, per Arrowhead Pride.

Injury report on 49ers

In preparation for their quest to secure the Lombardi Trophy for the first time since 1995, the 49ers squad saw six names added to their injury report. Notably, Trent Williams was the sole player absent from practice. However, his absence was not due to injury. Instead, he was granted rest as part of the team’s management strategy.

Defensive Tackle Artik Armstead (knee, foot), linebacker Oren Bucks (shoulder), tight end George Kittle (toe), and cornerback Ambry Thomas (ankle) were limited in practice. Additionally, defensive tackle Kalia Davis participated fully in practice, managing his ankle injury effectively.

The Niners are vying to regain their glory, while the Chiefs are rushing to etch their name in history.

Which team do you think can ultimately fulfill their dream?
