Chiefs WR Kadarius Toney blames AI for viral IG rant video: “Attacking the ones I love”

The Kansas City Chiefs and wide receiver Kadarius Toney are trying hard to secure consecutive Super Bowl victories and mark their third Super Bowl appearance in the last five seasons. The defending champion team is leaving no stone unturned to build up a new dynasty following the collapse of the New England Patriots’ golden dynasty.

After stumbling in the regular season, the Chiefs are just one match away from lifting the coveted Super Bowl LVIII trophy. Ahead of the anticipated match against the San Francisco 49ers, Toney addressed one of his controversial social media posts.

Kadarius Toney breaks silence on viral IG video

Kadarius Toney has finally broken his silence regarding the viral Instagram video that sparked controversy. In a statement posted on his Instagram Stories on February 4, he expressed frustration over the misinterpretation of his words.

In the now-deleted story, the veteran clarified that the clips were altered to create a false narrative, and he regretted the negative image it portrayed.

“Ion like how dat video made it seem like i was attacking the ones i love when the klips was altered to make it look like that. I would post the full klips where i addressed who i was speakin on but im passed that… I just hate the image it painted..Smh… they do anything for klout”, he wrote with a black heart emoji.

The entire debacle stemmed from an incident a few days ago. Just before the game against the Baltimore Ravens, the first-round pick was ruled out due to “NIR (not injury related) personal reasons/hip.” On Instagram Live, he appeared to criticize the Chiefs for his injury designation. He said that his absence from a crucial game was not due to injury, as reported, but rather to undisclosed personal reasons.

“Man that sh*t cap. I ain’t hurt….It go from hip to ankle to this to that. I’m in a full body cast right now at this point.”

Head coach Andy Reid addressed Toney’s absence by attributing it to the injuries listed on previous reports. He acknowledged that the player had been “working through some things,” but refrained from providing additional details.

Subsequent reports revealed that the WR’s absence might have been attributed to the birth of his daughter during that period. The potential paternity was possibly labeled as “personal” on the injury report.

Is Kadarius Toney back from injury?

Kadarius Toney seems to be making a comeback after dealing with injuries that sidelined him for the past six games. As of February 5, he is no longer listed on the injury report. The receiver might play against the San Francisco 49ers on February 11 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

The WR’s absence began after the Chiefs’ Week 15 matchup against the New England Patriots, where he sustained a hip injury. He later faced additional challenges with an ankle problem, and it led to his exclusion from the AFC championship game.

Even with limited playtime, Kadarius Toney has made noteworthy contributions on the field this season. He managed to score one touchdown, covering 169 yards on 27 receptions out of 38 targets. However, his statistics portray a supporting role within the team, with modest averages of 0.06 touchdowns, 10.5 yards, 1.68 receptions, and 2.3 targets per game. In the rushing department, the veteran has accumulated 31 yards from 11 carries across 16 appearances.

Chiefs fans will now hope for his successful return to form and contribution to the team’s consecutive Lombardi Trophy aspirations.
