A Lombardi Trophy is something that many experienced NFL receivers aim to win over their careers, but Rashee Rice did so in his first season as the Kansas City Chiefs made NFL history. But while Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs work on strengthening their roster in preparation for Super Bowl LIII, Rice is caught up in the aftermath of a terrible automobile accident.

Amid the speculation surrounding his involvement in the accident, he recently issued a brief statement addressing the situation, offering limited insight into his perspective.

Rashee Rice’s attorney releases statement

Rashee Rice recently issued a statement through his attorney, Royce West of West & Associates LLP, addressing the recent multi-vehicle collision in Dallas after a short speculation. Nearly two days after the incident, he expressed his concern for everyone affected by the accident.

The wideout assured that he would take all necessary steps to handle the situation responsibly, with requests directed to his attorney in his statement. 

“On behalf of Rashee Rice, his thoughts are with everyone impacted by the automobile accident on Saturday. Rashee is cooperating with local authorities and will take all the necessary steps to address this situation responsibly. Any and all requests can be directed to his attorney, Mr. Royce West of West & Associates, LLP.”

The decision to retain legal counsel appears to be a strategic move, particularly if he was involved in the collision.

The Dallas Police Department initiated a search for the Chiefs’ star player following the incident, which took place around 6:25 p.m. on Saturday along the northbound Central Expressway. One of the vehicles involved was reportedly leased or registered to Rice, prompting further investigation by authorities.

While police documents list him as the suspected driver of the Corvette involved in the crash, it remains unclear if he was present at the scene. 

Looking at the aftermath of Rashee Rice’s car accident

A chaotic scene occurred along the northbound lanes of the Central Expressway in Dallas as six vehicles were involved in Rashee Rice’s car accident, leaving a trail of damage and minor injuries. According to KMBC, the incident was triggered by a Chevrolet Corvette and Lamborghini speeding in the far-left lane, leading to a series of events that culminated in a collision with the center median wall.

Witnesses recounted a tense moment as both vehicles lost control, with the Lamborghini veering into the shoulder and striking the median wall. The crash saw two drivers and two occupants rush to nearby hospitals for treatment of minor injuries, while two others received medical attention at the scene.

Meanwhile, the accident resulted in injuries to a woman who expressed that the individuals involved endangered her four-year-old son and left the scene without showing any concern or empathy.

Reports also emerged of individuals seen scavenging items, including firearms and bags, from the vehicles involved in the collision.

The focus of ongoing investigations has centered on identifying those responsible for the crash, including Rashee Rice, whose level of involvement remains unclear. Details surrounding his role in the accident are yet to be confirmed as authorities continue their probe into the incident.
