The famous Brawl Out incident at AEW has resurfaced in recent weeks, as Stephen New, the lawyer for CM Punk and Ace Steel, confirmed that Punk and Steel have signed a non-disclosure agreement regarding the backstage incident.
Chris Jericho sparked controversy during a recent conversation with Stephen New, threatening that he’s unburdened by any non-disclosure agreements. Jericho sent a one-word message to CM Punk, who achieved victory in his first WWE match in nearly 10 years.
CM Punk receives one-word message from Chris Jericho
WWE recently posted a video of Punk entering Madison Square Garden on the WEE Live Holiday Tour for his match against Domink Mysterio. Jericho added the word “congrats” and added a fire emoji as a reaction to the video. This simple gesture showed that Jericho acknowledged Punk’s comeback and appreciated his performance.
Recently, Jericho and Stephen P New were involved in a controversy regarding the NDA signed by Punk regarding the backstage fight between Punk and members of AEW after the All Out pay per view in 2022. Both were exchanging words on social media, and former wrestler Jim Cornette blasted Jericho and called him a lair.
Despite their off-ring rivalry, Jericho and Punk also clashed in the ring. In 2012, Jericho attempted to get under Punk’s skin by bringing up his family’s issues with alcohol and drugs. They had an epic match at WrestleMania 28, and later that same year, they faced off again at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view.
According to some fans, Jericho’s one-word message to Punk is perceived as a sign of respect but also a challenge. The response from Punk and the future interactions between these two legends remain to be seen.
CM Punk’s return match takes over internet
Last night, fans witnessed CM Punk’s first match in almost 10 years at Madison Square Garden. The crowd went crazy when Punk won his match against the former North American Champion, Dominik Mysterio, by hitting his iconic Go To Sleep finisher move.
The match was not streamed on any of the online platforms, but as per reports, the match was viewed over 1 million times via pirated clips. This is a huge number, as the show was not officially televised on any of the WWE platforms.
Punk also cut a promo after the match saying, “There’s a little part of me that came here for me, but you guys are the high tide that raises all ships. You have carried me throughout my career to my greatest moments and this is one of them.”
Punk also said, “When I win the Royal Rumble and go on to main event WrestleMania, that isn’t me finishing my story, That’s just me getting started.” So, the fans have a big expectation for WWE’s plan for CM Punk for the upcoming Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania 40.
