Christian Horner accused of being classless for revealing private talks with Lewis Hamilton’s father

Recently, Christian Horner found himself at the center of a dramatic event following a statement he made regarding Lewis Hmailton’s potential transfer to Red Bull. The news quickly spread worldwide, causing chaos in the sports world.

However, Hamilton strongly denied the accusations directed at him. In response to the denial, Horner clarified that Hamilton’s father sent him a proposal, not Hamilton himself.

Horner under fire for lack of professionalism

The entire Formula One paddock is being stirred by the controversy regarding Lewis Hamilton and Christian Horner. Despite several backlashes, the British driver stood by his statement, specifying that his father “with the same surname” initiated the discussion.

The incident took place during a period where Hamilton was actively involved in conversations involving his contraction extension, as he wanted to be a member of the team “till he dies.”

Former F1 driver Christijan Albers believes that Horner’s decision  to make such revelations was ill advised, which reflected poorly on his professional behavior. He said, “You know whether it happened or not, that is actually secretly not relevant at all. What is relevant is the professionalism you have to exude as a team.”

“If you have such a big team under your belt and you are the team boss there with such good results, you don’t need this at all.”

Christian Horner asserts Lewis Hamilton’s father initiated talks

On Friday, Anthony Hamilton came up to the team boss with a subtle hint of suggestion and inquired about any available position for Red Bull. Hornier claimed that the discussion was not of a series nature, as there was no seat available alongside the triple world champion, Max Verstappen.

The Briton said, “I don’t know what role Anthony plays in Lewis’ setup or management; he’s got some form of relationship. I don’t think he was enquiring about himself to come and drive. “ trying to ease the situation.

He also pointed out the consecutive failures of Mercedes, therefore stating that it was normal for a father to be concerned. He said, “It’s entirely normal for drivers, drivers’ representatives and drivers’ parents to have different conversations during the course of a year,”

“I’ve known Anthony Hamilton for many years, he’s a good guy, he’s a proud racing father.

“Let’s face it, Lewis hasn’t won a grand prix for two years. It’s inevitable that questions will be asked up and down the paddock, but there was never any engagement.” further adding salt to the team’s wounds.
